The whole world loves soccer – and of course, everyone loves a surprise.  Once In A Lifetime Surprises from Mastercard brings delight that touches our hearts and trigger our “awwwww" response.  And now they’re looking for concepts that will make everyone say,

MasterCard is looking for surprises that will change the whole idea of what’s possible in the “surprise” business.   We know that’s a big ask – especially with the great stuff that they’ve already done with surprises: this one made us smile and cry. (We hope it does the same for you!)

Why Are We Focusing On Soccer?

Because soccer is the most popular sport on the planet – and nearly 3.5 billion people consider themselves a “soccer fan.” Soccer unites generations, creates cherished traditions among friends (and rivals!), and it’s a driver of intense passions, conversation, and -- with your help -- priceless connections from fan to fan.

The goooooaaaallll is to develop soccer-focused Concepts that allow MasterCard to become synonymous with Once-In-A-Lifetime, priceless surprises.  Surprises that will give every soccer fan something to talk about -- for a lifetime.

There’s no specific formula here: use your imagination and give us your Concepts for surprises that will create moments that outdo the examples we’ve shown you.  If you need a soccer arena and a crowd of 1,000’s to make your idea work -- by all means, bring it on.

Target Audiences:

• Soccer Fans!  Hardcore fans, casual fan…and avid followers
  • “Nesters” – Working Moms & Dads, 35-50 – with kids between ages 4-17 (basically, elementary to high school children).
  • “Pre-nesters” – Working Singles & Working Couples –  yep, no kids at the house

Project Details: This Project will be worth a total of $2,250 and consists of a Concept Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: CONCEPT – Tell us your Concept for the MasterCard Once In a Lifetime Soccer-Surprise project in 500 characters or less. The three (3) winning Concept creators will receive $750 each.  Remember, a Concept is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Concepts should be clever and engaging. The winning Concept creators will receive $750.

1. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

2. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

3. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

4. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

5. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

6. Submissions must be in the English language.

7. Limit 5 submissions per member, per Phase.

8. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

9. In the event that fewer than 40 Concepts are received, the Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest for up to fourteen (14) days at their discretion.

10. Creators MUST the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment.
