Hey graphic designers and visual artists! Lubriderm would like to see what static ads you can create to entice shoppers to try Lubriderm.

Remember this Positioning Project from a few weeks back? Great work, but now it’s time to take the campaign a step further and create printable ads based on the Positioning Statements. So graphic designers and visual artists, Lubriderm is looking for visual designs that will present its “good for the whole family” proposition to moms while they are shopping in the lotion aisle.

From the original project, we arrived at two Positioning Statements:

1. UNIVERSAL

What if there was a cereal that every member of the family loved to eat? What about a toothpaste or even a vegetable at dinner? It's almost laughable to think something you buy at a grocery store could be that universal but that's what Lubriderm is. Lubriderm is that rare product that any member of the family can use anytime. So, while there will probably never be a cereal or vegetable for everyone, there will always be Lubriderm.

2. SIMPLE AND TIMELESS

There’s something wonderful, simple, real, and timeless about our family being together. When we first face the day, it’s together as a family, when we recover from yet another crazy day, we do it as a family.

Lubriderm doesn't aim to be a status symbol or more than what it is, Lubriderm just helps us prepare and recover from the day because it is the best everyday lotion for the whole family.

Now, we’d like to hear your design pitches for printed retail ads and display units based on these Statements. Remember that they need to translate into a static design on a small space. Each submission must contain two display ads as per the description in the assets tab.

The goal of this project is to create advertisements that can be printed to use in stores that communicate the Positioning Statements to let moms know that Lubriderm is good for the whole family. Each submission will contain a shopper ad as well as a display visual that mimic those in the Assets tab.

--Target Audience: Moms 25-40 who are trying to navigate their lives while taking care of their families.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • Don’t focus on claims.
  • Don’t compare to other products.
  • Don’t call out use for babies.

--Tone: Positive, family-friendly, direct, relatable, approachable, moms as everyday heroes.

--Exposure: Retail

This Project will be worth a total of $8,000 and consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Artwork Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your design Pitch convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute advertisements based on one of the Positioning Statements from the above brief using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this visual design.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous work or portfolio. Please specify your role.

  • Treatment (Optional): A rough sketch, a design mockup, a layout of the work to follow.

The 3 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $500 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting an ad that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Artwork Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Artwork submission, you will win an additional $500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $3,000 First Place Artwork prize.

PHASE 2: ARTWORK – The 3 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create two ads as per the specs on the assets tab based upon their winning Pitch.

All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on the Positioning Statements.  The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the 1 highest scoring Wildcard Artwork along with the 2 winning Artworks submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Artwork Phase.  Remember, the 2 Pitch winners, along with 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.

--Artwork Phase Payout: Winners of the Artwork Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $3,000, 2nd place $2,000, 3rd place $2,000.

--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Artwork creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential $350 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
