Big Idea
08/11/16 - 08/18/16

Lenovo is looking for a big idea to inform a series of ongoing videos about how Lenovo is involved in the fascinating field of space exploration.

Did you know that Lenovo ThinkPads are the ONLY laptops certified for use at the International Space Station (ISS)? In fact, ThinkPads have been used aboard the ISS since 1998 and have been on every NASA Shuttle space flight since 1995, when the ThinkPad 755 blasted off with the crew. Used by all the major world space agencies (e.g., JAXA, ESA), there are more than 60 ThinkPads on the International Space Station (see how many ThinkPads you can find in this photo).

Working with Tongal, Lenovo is looking for a big idea to inform a series of ongoing videos about how Lenovo is involved in the fascinating field of space exploration.

  • Think about ideas that would get conversations started and get people talking about Lenovo and how they’re powering innovation at the highest levels.
  • Think about how Lenovo products could be used to solve a pressing extraterrestrial problem - the galaxy is the limit!
  • Ideas with a call-to-action that could engage Lenovo’s social fan base are preferred.

Keep in mind:

  • NASA cannot endorse a company or look like they are endorsing a company.
  • Ideas should not revolve around the ISS or current NASA space missions, but may revolve around launch or training centers.
  • Ideas should not require crew time aboard the ISS.

Tone of Voice

  • Lively: use intelligent wit. Be interesting, engaging and culturally relevant.
  • Unexpected: communicate with surprising ingenuity. Have a boundless enthusiasm for what’s new and different, to always seek out the undiscovered.
  • Bold: demonstrate the confidence to challenge convention. Do things differently and communicate differently too.

The goal of this project is to find a big idea for how Lenovo could showcase their products as a vital component of space exploration that could  potentially be extended to a series of ongoing videos.

This project will be worth a total $1,500 and consist of a Big Idea phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
