ATTENTION: Tongalers from EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST, and AFRICA, Lenovo wants to know how their devices can help you make the most of today, everyday.

As a company that epitomizes innovation, Lenovo has ascended to the leader in its field by providing you the latest and greatest technology to make the most of today, everyday. Working with Tongal, and focusing on stories from Europe, Middle East and Africa, Lenovo wants to know YOUR story of how its devices make a significant impact in your daily life.

Whether you use your YOGA Tablet 2 Pro as an instant movie theater for your room, or use your YOGA 3 Pro to sketch designs in tablet mode, or use your ThinkPad X1 Carbon to power your small business, it’s hard to imagine a day, or even a minute without them. So tell us the “day-in-the-life” of YOU and how Lenovo makes it better.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • THESE MUST BE TRUE STORIES. PAYMENT FOR A STORY WIN IS CONTINGENT UPON YOUR COOPERATION WITH THE WINNING FILMMAKER SELECTED TO BRING YOUR STORY TO LIFE. YOU MAY NEED TO APPEAR IN THE FINAL VIDEO.
  • You will need to submit an Image of yourself using your Lenovo device during the Story Phase.
  • Your TRUE Story must be based in one of these regions: Europe, Middle East, Africa. While you do not need to be a citizen of a country in those regions, you must be living in one of those regions.
  • We’re looking for stories that are relatable and show that technology plays a large role in YOUR LIFE.
  • While You DO NEED to own and/or use a Lenovo PC or Tablet device to submit a story, it does not need to be a YOGA 3 Pro, YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, or ThinkPad X1 Carbon. It can be an older model.
  • If selected as a Story winner, Lenovo MAY provide newer product for you to use.
  • Payment for a win in the Story phase is contingent on your completion of the Winner’s Affidavit, the IP Assignment, and cooperation with the winning filmmaker selected to bring your Story to life in the subsequent Pitch Phase. Payment will be held until the Video Phase has completed and the filmmakers confirm your participation.
  • If you win in the Pitch Phase, you will be required to make your own travel arrangements to film the Story winner from the previous phase.
  • This project involves a Social Pack: 1 Behind-the-Scenes Video up to 60 seconds, 5 Still Images, 1 GIF

The goal of this project is to produce a relatable and engaging 60-90 second Video around a TRUE Lenovo Story that captures the passion and enthusiasm of its subjects and how Lenovo plays a part in their lives. The Video should highlight how its subjects use their Lenovo devices and help viewers understand the practical applications of the product.

Stories must be based in Europe, Middle East or Africa.

NOTE: The 60–90 second video and Social Pack are both due at the close of the Video Phase.

--Key Marketing Messages:

Lenovo Communication Pillars: These pillars are the lens through which Lenovo shows its products and the brand.

This project will be worth a total of $70,000 and consists of THREE (3) Phases: a Story Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: STORY – Tell us YOUR unique Story in 500 characters or less about how YOU use Lenovo in your day-to-day life. Story submitters must be based in one of these areas: Europe, Middle East, Africa.

The winning Story creators will receive $1,000 each. Payment for a win in the Story phase is contingent on your completion of the Winner’s Affidavit, the IP Assignment, and cooperation with the winning filmmaker selected to bring your Story to life in the subsequent Pitch Phase.

You will need to submit an Image of yourself using your Lenovo device during the Story Phase.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The FOUR (4) most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $5,000  to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $10,000, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $6,000 VIDEO BONUS. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The FOUR (4) winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a 60-90 second Video based upon their winning Pitch.

NOTE: The 60–90 second video and Social Pack are both due at the close of the Video Phase.

The Judges will score the FOUR (4) winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the FOUR (4) Pitch winners will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st – 4th Place, $10,000. The creator who BEST fulfills the Sponsor’s ask will receive a $6,000 Video Bonus.

--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the three providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
