LEGO Star Wars "Kids Only" Stories Project
Story
01/14/19 - 01/28/19

The LEGO Group is looking for KIDS (7 - 14) to tell their favorite Star Wars stories in 60-seconds or less.

Remember when the tauntaun escaped and was found hanging out at the beach on Spira? Or when Rey and Leia teamed up and beat Sebulba in the pod race? If you don’t, that’s because those stories can only happen in your imagination (aka things you’d NEVER see in a Star Wars movie). And we all know when kids are playing with their toys and their imaginations are going wild, that’s when the best stories come out.

Working with The LEGO Group, we’re breaking the rules, brick by brick, and need your help. We’re looking for Jedi in training (ahem kids) between 7 and 14 to tell their favorite Star Wars stories in 60-seconds or less.

We’re looking for all types of stories set in the Star Wars Universe.

So, if you are (or if you know) a young Jedi in training, please read below for more information:

Please use one of the story starters below (or come up with your own) to spark your imagination.

  1. Tell a story about how your favorite characters would have escaped from the Empire. For example, the time when Luke and Leia escaped the Death Star. Was there a better way out, or secrets to escaping that they could have used?
  2. Tell a story of a great battle that happened on a far, far away planet. For example, the time when The Wookiees of Kashyyykk joined forces with the clone troopers and fought against the droid army. What other enemies could have been there?
  3. Tell a story of a great race or competition. What kind of vehicles would be in it? For example, the time when young Anakin Skywalker built a pod racer and raced on Tatooine. How would you have done it?
  4. Tell the story of an underdog moment, a time when the little guy won the battle. For example, the time when a little Snowspeeder took down the giant All Terrain Armored Transport with a hook and tow cable. Can you imagine other improvised weapons being used in such an awesome way?
  5. Tell about how a hero got captured and a daring rescue needed to be planned, like the time when Han Solo was frozen in Carbonite and loaded aboard Boba Fett’s ship Slave I, and taken off to Jabba the Hutt. How would you plan the rescue mission? Who would the heroes be and how could you get Han back for the Rebels?

  • When submitting, use the drop-down menu to select the story starter. If you are coming up with a totally original story, select “Other.”
  • You will need to submit both a script and a video or clear audio track of the child telling the story.
  •  You must submit talent releases signed by the parent or guardian of the kid storyteller.
  • If you are submitting an audio track, please make sure there are no background noises or music playing.
  • If you are submitting a video, please make sure you are standing against a plain background (no posters, no toys, no pictures) and you must also have a signed location release.
  • All stories should start with: “Hi I’m (Your Name). I’m (Your Age) years old and from (Your City) and this is my (our) LEGO Star Wars Battle Story.” This intro does not cut into your 60-second time limit.
  • If you are selected as a winner, you may be asked to revise your script and submit an updated video or audio track.

The goal of this project is to source EIGHTEEN (18) stories from young Star Wars fans. Each story should be no longer than 60-seconds.

Stories MUST stay in the Star Wars Universe and you cannot mix IPs. Sorry, this means the Hulk and Batman can't hang out with Luke and Chewie.

This project will be worth a total of $4,500 and consists of a Story Phase and a Revisions Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: Star Wars Story – Tell us your Star Wars story in 60-seconds or less. The winning story creators will receive $250 each.
