We’re looking for talented writers to help us develop 7-10 page treatments for a 1-hour LEGO holiday special based on the Holiday Heroes world, the first world developed on LEGO World Builder.

The goal of this project is to develop treatments for a 1-hour LEGO Holiday Special based on the Holiday Heroes world, the first world developed on LEGO World Builder.

LEGO Holiday Heroes is a theme that seeks to bring together holidays and festivities across the world, from Halloween to Diwali to Chinese New Year to Christmas. At the center of this story is the town of Festiville, where Mayor Day resides along with his daughter, and our hero, Holly Day! Along with a diverse group of friends, Holly travels from Festiville all across the world to thwart the nefarious plans of the April Fool, who seeks to make every holiday about himself!

If you're interested in helping us develop this special, please read below.

THE PROCESS

  • In the Pitch Qualification Phase, we want to see who's interested, available, and has a great story idea for the Holiday Special.
  • Three greenlit Pitch Qualification creators will advance to the Writer’s Pitch Phase and will, after fully executing our Non-Disclosure Agreement, receive access to additional materials (i.e. access to the Holiday Heroes world on LEGO, where you will learn more about the characters and settings).
  • In the Writer's Pitch Phase, we will give the greenlit Pitch Qualification creators more details about the Holiday Special so that they can create an 3-5 page outline expanding on their proposed story. We will provide a format as well as additional guidance and notes to help guide the outline.
  • In the Writing Phase, the greenlit writers from the Writer's Pitch Phase will develop full 7-10 page treatments based on their outline. Again we will provide a format as well as additional guidance and notes to help guide the treatment.
  • After this phase, there is a chance you'll be invited by LEGO to work with their team of writers for the script.

  • All work MUST be original, and should NOT include or reference any other existing IP.
  • Please use Holly as the lead and have April Fool be the villain.
  • As a global brand, the LEGO Group encourages you to lean into the multicultural aspect of this world and find clever ways to incorporate multiple holidays around the world, while still maintaining the feel of a winter holiday special.
