SYFY is looking for ONE Superman Superfan to star as the host of an online after-show about SYFY’s upcoming new television series KRYPTON, which premieres March 21st.

Do you know who shrunk the city of Kandor? Can you make a case for Tom Welling over Henry Cavill? Do you call your bedroom the Fortress of Solitude?

If you answered YES to any of these, and think you’ve got the camera-friendly charisma of Lex Luthor, then pull off those black-rimmed frames and reveal yourself! Tongal’s going to create an after-show for SYFY’s upcoming television series Krypton, and the first step is finding a Superfan to help host it.

Set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet, Krypton is going to give us a new side of the Superman story, following Kal-El’s grandfather as he fights to defend his family’s honor and save his world from chaos. SYFY wants a Superfan’s perspective on the new series, to connect with other fans, new and old, and explore how Krypton fits into the wider legacy of the Man of Steel. The best part? They’re going to give you exclusive early access to the show. 

Here’s what you need to know: 

• Submissions should include a brief summary of what makes you a Superman Superfan, in 500 characters, along with a 1-3 minute video of yourself on camera, making the case for yourself as a Host, and explaining what SYFY can expect if they choose you. You must also indicate where you’re based. Then, you’ll also have the option to include links to your past work, if this isn’t your first time on camera, as well as a biography document.
• A filmmaker will be selected for the after-show in a separate project that will launch immediately after a winning Superfan Host is selected here. We'll be selecting a filmmaker that is local to the winning Superfan Host, or that willing to travel. That filmmaker is not required to offer any additional compensation to the winning Superfan.
• The Superfan Host will work with the filmmaker to help develop the after-show. The after-show digital video series will be comprised of 12 episodes, which will range anywhere from 1-5 minutes in length, and the format will be determined during pre-production with the winning Filmmaker.
• Filming will begin during the end of February and continue into March. The exact schedule and timeline is TBD, and will be determined in conjunction with the winning Filmmaker in a separate project.
• Prizing for Participation is not paid unless and until the Winning Superfan has cooperated fully with Tongal and any filmmaker that may be selected to create the video series. Once a production schedule has been determined with a Filmmaker, Tongal will provide the Superfan with a detailed payment timeline that accounts for the filming of each episode.
• If you are a Filmmaker, you may still submit yourself as a Superfan, but if your participation is contingent on your own selection as the Filmmaker for the video series, you will be disqualified. 
• SYFY will provide exclusive early access to each episode of the show in the manner of their choosing.
• SYFY is open to teams of Hosts too! If you have your own Lois Lane or Jimmy Olsen, feel free to submit as a team.

The goal of this project is to find an incredible Superman Superfan to star as the Host of an online after-show about SYFY’s upcoming television series, Krypton. SYFY is looking for people with real knowledge and passion for the Man of Steel, who are familiar with the whole canon of Superman content and it’s history, and who can connect with SYFY audiences and break down each new episode of Krypton. 

NOTE: If you are a Filmmaker, you may still submit yourself as a Superfan Host, but if your participation is contingent on your own selection as the Filmmaker for the video series, you will be disqualified.

--Tone: Smart, edgy, fun, self-aware. 

--Exposure:  The Krypton after-show video series is intended for distribution on SYFY and SYFY Wire’s owned channels and digital platforms, specifically YouTube and SYFY.com, but potentially also Facebook and Instagram. Short teaser videos may air on TV to promote the aftershow series.

This Project will be worth a total of $500 and consists of one Phase: a Superfan Audition Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules. 

PHASE 1: HOST AUDITION – Submit your Host Audition with a brief summary in 500 characters or less. All submissions MUST indicate where you are based, and include a 1-3 minute video of yourself on camera. You also have an option to upload links to your past work, as well as a biography document, though neither is required. Winners may be subject to a background check.

• IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A HOST AUDITION ON YOUR OWN BEHALF, YOUR INITIAL $500 PAYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON YOUR PARTICIPATION AND COOPERATION WITH THE WINNING FILMMAKER SELECTED TO BRING THE AFTER-SHOW SERIES TO LIFE. YOU WILL THEN RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL $500 UPON COMPLETION OF EACH VIDEO, INCLUDING THE PILOT, AND UPON COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING FORMS: THE WINNER’S AFFIDAVIT, IP ASSIGNMENT, AND THE TALENT RELEASE. 
• IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A HOST AUDITION ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE, YOUR PAYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON HIS/HER PARTICIPATION AND COOPERATION WITH THE WINNING FILMMAKER. YOU WILL RECEIVE $500 UPON COMPLETION OF THE PILOT VIDEO, AND THE HOST’S COMPLETION OF THE WINNER’S AFFIDAVIT, IP ASSIGNMENT, AND THE TALENT RELEASE. THE SUPERFAN HOST WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL $500 UPON COMPLETION OF EACH VIDEO, INCLUDING THE PILOT.
• If you are submitting your own Host Audition and are selected as a finalist, you will be required to provide this Series Cooperation Agreement (Own Submission). THIS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR INITIAL SUBMISSION.
• If you are submitting on behalf of someone else and are selected as a finalist, you will be required to provide this Series Cooperation Agreement (Submission On Another’s Behalf). THIS IS NOT REQUIRED FOR INITIAL SUBMISSION.

Full payment breakdown below. Note that a detailed payment timeline will be created to correspond with the eventual series production schedule. 

• Submission Prizing: $500 to Submitter for Winning Submission, upon Host completion of the pilot. If you've submitted yourself, you will receive this $500.
• Pilot Prizing: $500 to Host, upon completion of the pilot.
• Series Prizing: $500 to Host, upon completion of each of the subsequent 11 episodes ($5500 in total).

A FILMMAKER WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE AFTER-SHOW IN A SEPARATE PROJECT THAT WILL LAUNCH IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE WINNING SUPERFAN HOST IS SELECTED HERE.  THE FILMMAKER IS NOT REQUIRED TO OFFER ANY ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION TO THE SUBJECT.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

3. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

4. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

5. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

6. Limit 5 submissions per member.

7. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or old. 

8. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest at their discretion.

9. Winners must submit the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment.
