Insect Lore was started in 1969 with the simple purpose of creating kits that allowed people of all ages to witness one of Nature’s greatest miracles in action – the metamorphosis of a real, live butterfly. Today, over 40 years later, more than 11,000,000 caterpillars have been shipped from Insect Lore's California facilities bringing joy to thousands, worldwide.

Create a 60 second video telling the story of how the Insect Lore Live Butterfly Garden Kit can bring parents and children closer through the shared experience of raising and releasing butterflies. The overall tone of the piece is quite flexible so feel free to explore approaches ranging from the humorous, playful and fun, to emotional, sentimental and nostalgic. Learn a bit more about the Live Butterfly Garden kit here.

This project will be worth a total of $10,000 and consist of two phases so there’s a place for all of you to contribute, regardless of your skill set.

PHASE 1: CONCEPT –  In 250 characters or less, tell us your concept for the Insect Lore video. Remember, a concept is not a detailed script, it is a brief synopsis or distillation of what will happen in the video. As always, concepts should be clever, engaging, and fun.

PHASE 2: VIDEO –  Select one of the 5 winning Concepts from Phase 1 and make a 60 second Video for Insect Lore based on it. Think of the concept as the central thesis that you should build your video around. As always, creativity and originality are king so make it interesting and have some fun with it.

--Target Audience: Parents of children ages 4+.
