Creators, we are seeking pitches and budgets for a Hot Wheels YouTube Video to be shot THIS WEEKEND! Submit your Pitch and tell us what you need to bring an epic Hot Wheels YouTube Video to life!

***THE PITCH SUBMISSION PERIOD AND TIMELINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!!!***

Tongal is seeking original programming to distribute on the Hot Wheels YouTube channel. This is your chance to pitch us the epic Hot Wheels Video that you’ve always wanted to create featuring fast cars, amazing stunts, celebrated fails, and crazy action. Think about how you could possibly integrate Hot Wheels with current pop cultural trends and events. If your Pitch is selected, you will need to shoot and edit your video and have it completed by Monday August 14th by 10:00AM PT (previously August 8th). The Videos will potentially be distributed on Hot Wheel’s YouTube Channel or affiliates. Video Pitches should be executable in a very short timeline. There is no limit to the amount of pitches that will be accepted to create videos.

This project is not sponsored by YouTube.

This project is open to US residents only.

Read on to the Project Objectives for more information on what we’re looking for and the best way to craft your Pitches…

The goal of this project is to source Pitches to create an original YouTube Video that will potentially live on the Hot Wheels’ YouTube Channel. We want to hear your most epic and engaging Pitches! Your imagination (and budget) is the only limit! Please read ALL of the below before pitching.

We are looking for Videos that appeal to 7 to 10-year-old Boys that emphasize competition, experimentation, and creativity!

BUDGETS: Budgets should range from $100 to $2,000 per Video.

Creators, your Pitches MUST include a Video logline and synopsis.

WHAT TO SUBMIT:

REQUIRED IN YOUR PITCH:

  • Video Logline
  • Video Concept
  • Links to Previous Work.
  • Proposed Budget per Episode (*See Budget Template in the Assets Tab) Instead of us dictating your budgets, we’re looking for you to let us know the amount you need in order to execute your Video. Please provide explicitly how much you need per Video. Budgets must fall between $100 and $2,000 per Video.
  • Your budget proposal is subject to approval if your Pitch is selected. Please consider the most economical way to produce your Video or Series.
  • If your Pitch is selected, we will work with you through a direct engagement to develop your Video or Series to be completed by August 14th 10:00AM Pacific Time (previously August 7th).

You are required to submit your budget in your Pitch, and Tongal must approve your production budget before you begin filming.

If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the direct engagement process.

Before you go too deep into your pitch, please be aware of some of the rules of the road. While we want to keep things free and open, in order for your video to have a chance at being selected as the winner we’ve provided a list of Do’s and Don’ts.

DO’S:

  • Capture close up images of the product (i.e. Hot Wheels are small and fast, make sure you are able to get photos or close up images of the product)

  • Use current product line that is available at Toys R Us, Walmart, Target and/or Amazon
  • Kids should be shown in safe environments and must not be shown using product in unsafe situations that may encourage them to engage in dangerous activities (i.e. playing with Hot Wheels by an oven or on the stairs)

  • Do NOT use any other toys or toy-like properties that are not Mattel branded toys.
  • Do NOT wear any logos or use IP protected props – ALL background images should be generic
  • Do NOT use any adult language
  • Do NOT use Hot Wheels cars that showcase another companies intellectual property (i.e. Star Wars, Batman, Nascar, Toyota, Porsche, etc...). Use Hot Wheels branded cars only.
  • Do NOT shoot on the following locations:
    • On the street
    • Driveways
    • Parking lots or other locations intended for car traffic
    • Stairway
    • Oven

    • Pool/Ocean (if near water make sure there is active adult supervision)
    • Balconies
