Hot Wheels Ai is the next evolution of smart racing. This Fall Hot Wheels Ai is introducing MARIO KART, BATMAN, and “Street Racing”  themed playsets. We’re looking for exciting YouTube Series Concepts and campaign taglines that center around the Ai remote control intelligent playset. 

Hot Wheels Ai uses computer enhanced Artificial Intelligence to help guide your car around a customizable track. The advanced Ai sensors and multiple game modes allow you to best your own lap time in Practice Mode and race against friends or Ai controlled cars for all the glory in Championship Mode.

Coming this Fall, Hot Wheels Ai is going to feature brand new cars and tracks from Nintendo’s Mario Kart and DC’s Batman. There will also be a “Street Racing” inspired vehicle and track set.

PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for YouTube Series Concepts and taglines that primarily showcase the original/base Hot Wheels Ai track system which can then feature the Mario Kart and Batman licenses (separately). We are NOT looking for stories that are specific to the Mario Kart and Batman worlds. Concepts can be live-action, animated, or a hybrid of both. Taglines should focus on the Series Concept and NOT the Ai system.

The primary goal of this Project is to find a Series Concept and campaign tagline that centers around the Hot Wheels Ai track system and smart controlled cars that can feature Mario Kart, Batman, or “Street Racing” themed tracks and vehicles. Concepts should focus primarily on the original/base Hot Wheels Ai track system which can then feature the Mario Kart or Batman licenses (separately or the Street Racing Ai system). Taglines should be focused on your Series Concept and NOT the Hot Wheels Ai playset.

DON’T GIVE UP… YOU’RE ALMOST THERE!

• TONE: Your Series Concepts should be about having fun— action, racing and stunts should be featured. Episodes should feel cool and exciting. Risk-taking and thrill-seeking are at the core of Hot Wheels Ai. IMPORTANT: TECHNOLOGY CAN BE MENTIONED IN YOUR CONCEPTS, BUT DO NOT FOCUS SOLELY ON THE TECHNOLOGICAL ASPECT OF HOT WHEELS Ai IN YOUR CONCEPTS.
• KEY MARKETING MESSAGE: Hot Wheels Ai offers a system of play that allows you to bring your favorite racing disciplines and characters together in one epic race.
• CHARACTER: Boys (8 – 10 years old) can play roles in the Series. Cars can act as characters, but the CARS CAN’T TALK! Also, Batman and Mario Kart characters CANNOT crossover into each other’s world (i.e. Batman can’t race Mario).
• MARIO KART: The only Nintendo car characters that can be featured are: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, & Peach.
• BATMAN: The only Batman car characters that can be featured are: Batman & The Joker.
• STORY: Stories should focus on the Hot Wheels Ai original/base playset and can feature Mario Kart, Batman, or Street Racing themed stories. Again, please note that Mario Kart and Batman cannot crossover into each other’s worlds (no Batman racing Mario!). Episodes should be set up in a repeatable format that center around the Hot Wheels Ai system of play.
• TAGLINE: Taglines should be exciting and be the central piece that other pieces of content can be built from. Try to keep your tagline limited to a sentence or less that encapsulates what Hot Wheels Ai is all about (Famous examples: “Just Do It”, “Think Different”, “Melts in your mouth, not in your hand”). Taglines SHOULD NOT mention Mario Kart or Batman.
• AUDIENCE: Concepts should be aimed at Boys 8 to 10 years old that is a risk taker, thrill seeker, and tech savvy.
• FORMAT: Live-Action with optional elements of animation. Series Formats should be repeatable, and allow for Hot Wheels Ai products to be featured in every episode.
• CUTTING ROOM FLOOR (REALLY IMPORTANT!): Here’s what you should avoid in your Concepts—NO TALKING CARS with animated mouths, NO TECH FOCUSED stories, NO LICENSED CHARACTER CROSSOVERS (Batman can’t race Mario), no overly expensive stunts, no adult themes and no children in danger.

• Interactive Gaming Controller: Control your Smart Car with a trigger throttle and joystick steering, while real-time race announcements and sound FX keep you immersed in epic action.
• Game Modes: Three race modes, including Championship Mode (race against friends or AI), Practice Mode (fastest lap), and Freeplay Mode (who needs the track? Go anywhere with the Smart Car)
• Virtual Hazards: Launch virtual hazards at your opponent like oil slicks and tire blowouts

• Tracks: 40 pre-designed track configurations, or customize your own loop with unique twists and turns.

PHASE 1: Concept & Tagline

Tell us your Concept for a Hot Wheels Ai YouTube Series in 500 characters or less. Remember, a concept is not a detailed script. It is a spark, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. Concepts should be clever and engaging.

Tell us your Tagline for a Hot Wheels Ai YouTube Series in 50 characters or less. Remember, a tagline is a brief sentence that encapsulates your Series Concept and creates an actionable emotion with the reader.

The Winning Concept & Tagline creators will receive $500 each.

2. In the event you utilize any third party materials, such as music provided by a third-party music provider not provided by Tongal, you must obtain full written license and consent from the owner of such third party materials and provide such license and consent forms to Tongal.

3. BY SUBMITTING A ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

4. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

5. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

6. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

7. Entries must be in the English language or subtitled.

8. Limit 5 submissions per member, per Phase.

9. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or older to enter.

10. In the event that fewer than 50 Pitches are received, the Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest for up to fourteen (14) days at their discretion.

11. A standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, are required of all winning creators.
