Create a suite of four 15-second videos that show how Conair’s Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush is the hair hack for your busy lifestyle.
Life hacks are all the rage. Whether it’s using a potato to unscrew a broken light bulb or an empty water bottle to separate egg yolks, we use these tricks to regain valuable time in our days. These life hacks make our lives easier, and they make us feel like at-home Hermione Grangers conjuring up brilliant solutions to everyday problems-- So why are we spending so many hours styling our hair when there is a faster solution?
The new Infiniti Pro by Conair® Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush is all about saving you time and giving you salon-quality style even when you’re on the go. It’s the hair hack you’ve been waiting for. No longer will you need to spend hours ironing and pressing your hair with tools that leave your hair flat. The Infiniti Pro Hot Brush is your secret weapon in the styling drawer for naturally voluminous, smooth, straight hair.
Now Conair is turning to the Tongal community to create a suite of four 15-second videos that highlight all of the amazing features of the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush, and inform women everywhere how easy it is to achieve smooth, straight hair with natural volume at home.
Read on to the Project Objectives for more info.
The goal of this project is to create a suite of four 15-second videos (each with 5 stills) that demonstrate how the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush is the perfect tool for your busy lifestyle.
The Infiniti Pro by Conair® Diamond-Infused Ceramic Smoothing Hot Brush is so easy to use that if you know how to use a brush, then you know how to use this new styling tool. No styling skills are required! It also features an Ion Generator that neutralizes static to remove frizz and diamond-infused ceramic which provides advanced heat technology for shiny, straight, smooth results. It’s the ultimate hair hack!
Filmmakers: You are required to shoot all four videos in the suite. You may use one location for all four videos, but each MUST feature unique talent. You may shoot in a single-camera setup and shoot all four videos in one session, if necessary.
The primary use of these videos will be on social media. Filmmakers should be prepped to make their videos work without audio. See the Facebook Best Practices in the Asset tab for more information.
Your four 15-second videos, along with 20 stills (5 per video) and a 2D end card are all due at the close of the Video Phase.
PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:
IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the Pre-Production and Approvals process.
Facebook/Instagram Best Practices
This has to catch the audience’s attention within the first 3 seconds. You can NOT use audio to do this. That means it has to be visually engaging and the punch line does not come at the end of the spot. This cut needs to include graphic subtitles and will also have to be cut for a 1:1 or 2:3 aspect ratio so make sure the critical action happens in the center of the frame. See our slide in assets for more information.
YouTube Best Practices
This has to catch the audience’s attention within the first 5 seconds. You can use audio to do this. We recommend putting the most interesting visual pieces of the video within these first 5 seconds to keep viewers engaged, instead of showcasing the brand name or branded packaging. This means the punch line doesn’t come at the end of the spot. See our slide in assets for more information.

--Casting:

This Project will be worth a total of $30,000 and consists of three phases: a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $15,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an $15,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 2: PRE-PRODUCTION – The Pitch winner will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, the filmmaker will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:
No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner(s) will each create a preferred length in seconds (i.e. 30-seconds) Video based upon their winning Pitch.
NOTE: The four 15-second videos, 20 stills, and one 2D end card are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
--Video Phase Payout: The winner of the Video Phase will earn $15,000.
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.
Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee of $500. That’s a potential $500 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
