Create SIX shareable 15-second holiday recipe videos for Honey Maid Graham Crackers.

The holidays are just around the corner! Every year, friends and families come up with their own seasonal twists to turn regular recipes into calendar-appropriate dishes. For example, October essentially becomes the month of all-pumpkin-everything across the country.

Honey Maid, the iconic name in graham crackers, wants you to come up with your own holiday twists on six of their recipes (attached in the Assets section below). Focus on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, et al.

Don’t worry -- your holiday twists don’t have to be Top Chef material. Your festive additions to Honey Maid’s recipes should be simple, decorative, fun, and easy for busy parents to make. In fact, they should be so simple that you’re able to create 15-second videos quickly dramatizing the recipes!

Read the rest of the Objectives and Details below to find out how you can produce super fun & enticingly tasty 15-second Honey Maid recipe videos that will get everybody excited for the holidays.

The goal of this project is to create SIX super fun, creative and tasty-looking 15-second recipe videos – that provide HOLIDAY TWISTS on the recipes found under the Assets Tab – that will make parents and holiday party hosts alike want to make Honey Maid Graham Crackers a part of their holiday menu. Your 15 second video could show the entire recipe or tease the best parts of the dish and payoff the finished product.

Note: You will be required to provide TWO high-res still photos for each 15-second recipe. One photo will need to show the prepped ingredients, and the other will show the finished, plated product.

Note: In the Pitch Phase, you will be required to upload a pdf that explains in each recipe what your holiday twist will be.  (For example, "I'm going to use red and green marshmallows in my S'mores" or "I'm going to sprinkle candy cane crumbles over the Breakaways, instead of pecans".)

The Sponsor is open to seeing live action, animation and stop-motion executions. They’re also open to graphic title treatments since trying to squeeze in dialogue or VO may be tough in such a short time frame. For inspiration, check out an example of #15secondrecipe videos HERE, and 'the world's shortest cooking show' HERE. Get creative! Have fun! Embrace your holiday spirit!

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • Honey Maid is a must-have for the Holiday!

--Target Audience: Parents of children ages 2-12 who bake for family, friends, and events during the holidays.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • Must mention “Honey Maid” at least twice, e.g. “mix in the Honey Maid graham crackers with the milk.”
  • Do NOT mention other brands (for example, you can say "add chocolate chips", but do not say "add Hershey's chocolate chips".)

--Tone: Fun, lighthearted, authentic. Creative, delicious-looking, holiday-themed.

--Exposure: Intended for use on the Honey Maid Pinterest Page and other social/digital channels. Many viewers will be watching on mobile, so the small screen should be taken into consideration during production.

--Brand Persona:  Honey Maid is about: Wholesome, Family Connections, Great Tasting and Simple Goodness.

This Project will be worth a total of $15,000 and consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute this series of SIX 15-second recipe Videos and hi res still images using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Recipes (REQUIRED): Upload a pdf of the recipes document found in the Assets section of this project with your holiday twists highlighted.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $6,000 to help create the SIX 15-second Videos and hi-res still images.  Additionally, upon submitting Videos that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $9,000. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will each create SIX 15-second Videos and hi-res still images based upon their winning Pitch.

The Judges will score the winning Videos submitted by the Pitch winner.  Remember, only the Pitch winner will receive a prize.

--Video Phase Payout: Upon final delivery of the SIX 15-second videos, the Pitch winner will receive the following prizes: 1st – 6th place: $1,500, for a total of $9,000.

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audiosocket, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from any of the three providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
