We’re looking to source video concepts to be used as on-disc bonus content for the Halloween (2018) DVD and Blu-ray, and to market the home entertainment release on digital and social platforms.
** Project Update **
While the sponsor is still determining the other four concept winners, the following submission will be moving forward to the pitch project:
Understanding Horror
Similar to popular YouTube channels like Nerdwriter or Every frame a painting. Create original short video essays that dive deep into the culture of horror and how it has such a deep hold on us. And how movies like Halloween craft horror so well. For survival, explore why the fear of death is so important. Pure evil, does it really exist? Look into past examples that are horrifying because they are true. The fear of betrayal and how it is used in story, etc.
****
It was Halloween 1978 when Laurie Strode first survived a vicious attack from Michael Myers. 40 years and 10 movies later, Universal will be launching the 11th movie in the franchise this October. Serving as a direct sequel to the original movie, Halloween (2018) will once again star Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle.
This time around, will Laurie be ready for Michael when he returns? We'll find out in a few months! In the meantime, please let the thought of Michael Myers scare the creativity out of you.
