Submit an ASMR video featuring a candy-inspired LEGO build for The LEGO Group's social channels to celebrate the Halloween season!

With autumn in full swing and Halloween right around the corner, The LEGO Group is looking for one one ready-to-post candy-themed ASMR social video that features an impressive LEGO build to celebrate the fall season. Since they're looking to move fast, rather than taking the traditional project route, they're opening this up wide for finished wildcard video submissions.

Creatively, there are a lot of directions you could take this, and The LEGO Group is open to your own personal interpretations. There's also flexibility in video length and format - it should be at least :15 seconds, but could be as long as :30, and while stop motion is an obvious approach, it's not the only one you can take. Whichever direction you take, they want you to lean into ASMR, childhood nostalgia, and the joy of trick-or-treating.

Your video must be a new, original creation, so do not submit any existing videos that have already been shared publicly. We are open to on screen text, titles, or messaging if you feel like they can be incorporated in clever ways, however please not not include any dialogue. Once a filmmaker is selected, there will be one round of revisions done within 3 days, and you will also be expected to deliver a 4x5 asset.

One potential idea they proposed is building out a Halloween-inspired candy machine. The video could begin with the construction of a mechanized conveyer belt, before showing different candies and ghoulish surprises being built that will go on the belt. There could even be a magic trick where the candy grows larger as the conveyer belt progresses.

Check out more information in the Background, and for any questions or other project updates, check out the Project Forum.

FOR YOUR SUBMISSION: Submit one finished 9x16 video between :15 and :30. If you include music, it must either be an original composition or from one of Tongal's partner music libraries. Do not submit a proof of concepts or sample; this should be a completed video, and while you may be asked to do one round of revisions with the client, you should not expect to finish the video in revisions after being selected. If selected, you will need your talent to sign a Tongal talent release.

DELIVERABLES: There are 2 total video assets.

  • One :15-:30 video (9x16, 4x5)

EXPECTED TIMELINE: We expect to announce the selected video on Wednesday, October 8th. You may be asked to do revisions between October 8th - 9th, with final delivery on October 10th.

EXPOSURE: We expect content will be used on the platforms below, but if casting talent, be sure they review our required Talent Release before they're cast, as it is NOT limited to these platforms. You should also review our Music providers in the Project Requirements, as well as the platform best practices.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

HELPFUL REFERENCE VIDEOS FOR INSPIRATION/TONE:

In order to be considered, include the below materials in your submission. All submissions remain private, even after a Pitch is selected, and Tongal strives to have selections made by the end of the Evaluation period, but additional time may be required by the Sponsor, depending on any number of factors. Unless specifically requested, there's no need to include a budget with your submission.

  • SOCIAL VIDEO (REQUIRED): Submit a video to be featured on The LEGO Group's social channels in a 9x16 format.

The most compelling submission will be greenlit by the Sponsor, and the responsible creator will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: Once Content has been submitted and the initial Production Phase completed, greenlit creators will enter into Revisions. Creators will perform reasonable edits on their videos according to the Sponsor's feedback. Check out our Filmmaker Resource Portal to access helpful post-production resources like Text-Safe Guides for different platforms, Project File Organization Tutorial, Export Presets, and Captioning services.

MUSIC: If you use music from a library for your content, you MUST use one of Tongal's music providers: Universal Production Music, PrimalHouse, or Jingle Punks. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into submissions to this project, and will not require a Music Release Form. To learn more, click on any of the providers' names above.

If you use original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. Please ensure your composer reviews and signs this form BEFORE beginning their work.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS & RESOURCES: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You are responsible for any costs associated with the hard drive and shipping. Tongal also reserves the right to request all raw files associated with the project.

To ensure a smoother delivery, please review the Export Presets, Specifications, and Project File Organization Tutorial in our Filmmaker Resource Portal.
