Help GE highlight one of their remarkable employees, who has made an impact in helping them solidify their status as THE leader in Additive Manufacturing (i.e. 3D printing).
GE, the world’s preeminent digital industrial company, is transforming industries with it’s software-defined machines and solutions that are connected, responsive and predictive. Its inventions help fuel innovation across numerous industries.
Real GE employees are extraordinary and passionate people. Mohammad Ehteshami is a testament to the strength and vitality of the company. As former Head of Engineering at GE Aviation, Mohammad helped build the world’s largest and most powerful jet engines. Now as head of GE Additive (a new business focusing on latest manufacturing techniques), Mohammad is at the forefront of pushing the use of 3D printing for mass production of complex parts used in machines. This allows more sophistication in design that can be applied across industries such as aerospace, auto, medical implants, or even jewelry.
Mohammad has an incredible life story to share that has placed him directly in the path to affect the technological evolution of today’s world in a very big way. Now GE wants YOUR help in telling Mohammad’s fascinating story. Explain how you would bring his story to life in a short, fresh, and unique documentary video that also showcases the value he has brought to the manufacturing business by continuing to innovate and build GE Additive.

The goal of this project is to create a 3-minute Video to help GE celebrate Mohammad Ehteshami and his contributions to Additive Manufacturing and the GE Additive business.
Mohammad’s availability has changed from what was originally stated on this page and is currentlybeing figured out. Please DO NOT try to contact him during the Pitch Phase. If you are selected as the Pitch winner, we will connect you with him at that point.
--Deliverables:
In your Pitch, please make sure to highlight how you’ll bring Mohammad’s story in a fresh and unique way. The sponsor is open to moving a way from a typical documentary-style approach as long as it serves to communicate the take-away outlined under “Key Marketing Message” below. They are very interested in Pitches that incorporate a distinct visual approach toward documentary style filmmaking such as integrating animation, CGI, motion graphics, or other types of mediums that could help tell Mohammad’s incredible story.
PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means a pre-production call will be scheduled with winning filmmaker and the Sponsor to discuss project, and filmmaker will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:
TREATMENT – This project requires Treatment Approval before filmmaker can move onto the Video Phase. The treatment should describe how you plan to execute the video and how you plan to bring the storytelling to life visually. The sponsor may provide feedback on your Treatment and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback.
SHOOTING OUTLINE – This project requires Shooting Outline Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The sponsor may provide feedback on your Outline and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until an Outline is approved by the sponsor. You can find a sample Outline to reference in the Assets Tab of this project.
LOCATION - This project requires Location Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. This means you will need to submit multiple images of your primary filming. The sponsor may provide feedback on your location and ask you to submit additional photos or to find a new location and submit images for that. As part of this project you will have the opportunity to shoot at one of GE’s Aviation HQ in Evendale, OH (approximately 30 minutes from Cincinnati). GE would assist with the necessary internal approvals.
IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the Pre-Production and Approvals process.
--Key Marketing Messages: The sponsor wants the viewer to walk away with the following take-away…
--Target Audience: GE employees, recruits, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Enthusiasts.
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: GE is innovative, inventive, accessible. Never slick. Smart, easy to understand with a touch of quirkiness. Never corporate or chest beating. Content should reflect this and work to inform and inspire viewers.
--Exposure: Internal GE channels and external GE social media channels (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn).
