Create a short, sweet, and cheeky Video that highlights the iconic amenities at Caesars properties in Las Vegas and drives awareness for the leisure traveler to enjoy free WiFi available across their numerous properties.

Alright, it’s pop quiz time: Question: How do you define “fun” in Las Vegas? A) Partying poolside with friends B) Eating at one of the hottest Vegas restaurants C) Poppin’ bottles at the club with your buddies D) Catching a show E) Roaming the casino floors people watching F) ALL THE ABOVE.

And the answer is... F) ALL THE ABOVE. Luckily, Caesars Entertainment fully understands how important it is to have these happenings right at your fingertips and that’s why you don’t even have to venture outside the walls of these most famous properties to get the ultimate Vegas experience.

So Tongalers, when you’re done day-dreaming about your quintessential Vegas experience, here is why we’re turning to you. To showcase just how awesome these properties are, Caesars is looking to create an energetically fun and vibrant Video, that entices guests to explore their amenities at their Vegas properties. Whether it’s the High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ or the famous Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, there’s something for everyone at one of the Caesars Entertainment properties. And the offerings don’t end there - guests can enjoy free cross-property WiFi, powered by Cox business, allowing their Vegas excursions to be as seamless as possible.

And we know how you feel when you have to watch one of these inane drivel forced-view ads just to get the free WiFi, (it’s brutal). We encourage you to channel your inner creativity and explore, fun ways to engage the viewer by telling a story that communicates all of Caesars Entertainment’s awesome offerings.  Don’t be afraid to push the envelope. You could lampoon how dry these ads can be, tell an epic Vegas story or create a unique personality the likes of which we’ve never seen.  The point is everything is fair game as long as it weaves in some of Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas properties, their recognizable features, and calls out the free WiFi, powered by Cox business.

Please be sure to check out the Project Objectives for ALL the important details!

The goal of this project is to create an entertaining and engaging 30-second Video – with a 15-second cutdown, five (5) still images, and five (1) 2D endcard/bumper - for the leisure traveler looking to indulge in the amazing amenities that Caesars Entertainment properties have to offer, while weaving in the messaging that guests can enjoy free access to WiFi, powered by Cox business, across all properties during their stay in Las Vegas. While we want to utilize the beautiful imagery of the various Caesars Entertainment locations, we do NOT want the standard, run of the mill hotel sizzle reel you’ve already seen a thousand times. Your Videos should tell an interesting, unique, and original narrative. Have fun with this one!

NOTE to Pitch Submitters: The winning Filmmaker will be responsible for ALL travel and hotel expenses (i.e. Airfare, Lodging, Meals, Misc.) Please take this into consideration when pulling your pitch materials together.

NOTE: Caesars would like to highlight at least 2-3 properties to entice people to check out more of their locations. So, filmmakers, when you’re pulling together your vision for this project, think of how you would provide a sense of place through their iconic and recognizable property features – i.e., Caesars Palace statues/Garden of the Gods pool/front fountains, Paris balloon/Eiffel Tower, etc.

When crafting your Pitches, think of how you would include some of the following iconic locations into your narrative:

Caesars Palace:

  • Omnia Nightclub
  • Bacchanal Buffet
  • Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis
  • Qua Baths & Spa
  • Forum Shops
  • Central Gaming Pit
  • The Colosseum

Paris:

  • Eiffel Tower Experience
  • Le Central (Parisian-styled bar in the center of the casino)

The LINQ:

  • The LINQ Promenade
  • High Roller
  • O’Sheas

Planet Hollywood:

  • The Axis Theater
  • Casino Floor
  • Heart Bar

Flamingo:

  • Wildlife Habitat, stocked with exotic birds (including a beautiful flock of Chilean flamingos), fish and turtles

PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:

  • SCRIPT  – This project requires Script Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The brand may provide feedback on your Script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a Script is approved by the brand.
  • HEADSHOT  – This project requires Headshot Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. You must submit at least two actor options per role. If the brand does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options.

IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the Pre-Production and Approvals process.

--Deliverables Due:

  • One (1) 30-second Video
  • One (1) 15-second cutdown
  • One (1) 2D endcard/bumper featuring “Powered by Cox Business”
  • Five (5) still images

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • Caesars Entertainment offers the best on-property experiences in Las Vegas.
  • WiFi is always free across all of our properties, powered by Cox Business

--Target Audience: Millennials & Gen X-ers, ages 21-40, that are already at a Caesars property, or that plan to visit one. Our goal is for them to choose other Caesars properties as their 2nd or 3rd stops while in Las Vegas.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • There is sensitivity around gambling. Therefore, please avoid focusing on gambling.  Wide shots of the casino floor are okay, but close ups of gambling activity are not.
  • No foul language, nudity, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Content should be “PG” rated.
  • MUST showcase in some way that guests can always enjoy the free, cross-property WiFi system. End-card must indicate “Powered by Cox Business”
  • Highlight some of the iconic Caesars properties locations: High Roller observation wheel, Paris Eiffel Tower/Balloon, public spaces (e.g., Statues/front fountains at Caesars Palace), etc..
  • No use of celebrity(s)

--Tone: The content should be engaging and fun. Can be cheeky, playful, but NO NUDITY, and MUST BE PG rated! WE DON’T WANT THIS TO LOOK LIKE A SIZZLE REEL or an overly formal commercial. It should tell a story that motivates guests to visit multiple Caesars properties (and use the free wifi to stay connected) during their stay in Las Vegas.

Inspirational videos for tone:

  • Booking.Com - Provides a fun and engaging spin on an ordinary action
  • Shows how technology can enhance the lives of consumers. Highlights tech features through customer experiences rather than by focusing primarily on the product or service.

--Exposure: Website, blog, in-room TV system, and as guests log into the WiFi system.

This Project will be worth a total of $25,000 and consists of Three (3) Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase, and Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for objective in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each – and a 5% one-time residual payment for the winning Video based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $675) – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.

PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.
  • Treatment (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what’s going to happen in the video.
  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.
  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.
  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.
  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you’re capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $11,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $13,500 (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. The Pitch will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 3: PRE-PRODUCTION – The Pitch Winner from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmaker will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:

SCRIPT  – This project requires Script Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. The brand may provide feedback on your Script and ask you to submit a new version. There may be multiple rounds of feedback until a Script is approved by the brand.

HEADSHOT  – This project requires Headshot Approval before filmmakers move onto the Video Phase. You must submit at least two actor options per role. If the brand does not approve either of your options for a role, you may be asked to submit two new actor options.

No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.

PHASE 4: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner will create a 30-second Video, with a 15-second cut-down based upon their winning Pitch.

NOTE: The 30-second video, 15-second cut-down, five (5) still images, and one (1) 2D end-card/bumper are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
