Using video footage from a speaking event that featured a US congressman and executive leadership, edit together a suite of educational and insightful social videos for First American about important home ownership and title insurance topics.

*You must be based in the US or Canada to be able to physically receive the footage that will be shipped for this project.*

Homeownership is often the most significant financial purchase a person makes in their life and it can feel more than a little daunting and overwhelming. Meeting with experts and becoming more informed is the single best step that you can take towards clearing the fog of uncertainty and gaining confidence in the decisions you'll need to make. For over one hundred years, First American has offered that expert perspective and become the trusted partner that prospective homeowners can seek out on their way to becoming property owners. Reflecting that expertise, in late August, First American will be hosting a private executive fireside chat that will feature their chief executives in a dialogue with a US Congressman, and they'll be discussing housing and property systems, deed and title fraud, ownership risk, title insurance, property rights, generational stability, trust, and community resilience. They'll be recording this event, and they're hoping to share some key moments from it on their social platforms.

The goal of this project then is to use the video footage that comes out of this to edit together some digestible and informative social videos that can highlight the important topics that will be covered during the event. The suite of videos should educate viewers on how property ownership systems work, where they are under pressure, and what protections are available to homeowners. We'll be looking for one overarching flagship edit that establishes how this chat is a part of First American's Community Conversations, and it should include insightful information from the panel and function as more than a generic event recap. We will also be looking for you to create four topic-specific cutdowns to address individual themes, such as system pressure, deed and title fraud, ownership complexity, title insurance value, property rights, and what holds ownership together.

This content is for those who are navigating increasingly complex questions involving fraud, liens, inheritance, property records, title, and long-term ownership protection. The speakers from the event bring complementary public-sector, industry, and community perspectives that can make these systems easier to understand and show why accurate records, informed consumers, and trusted institutions matter to families and communities. Secure homeownership depends on a trusted system of clear titles, accurate records, informed consumers, effective fraud prevention, and professionals who help people understand and protect what they own. Overall, we want to ensure viewers of these videos feel informed and reassured knowing that they have a trusted partner in First American.

First American will provide the captured footage, along with recorded audio, event stills, a run of show, a host of approved brand assets, transcripts, some approved speaker information, and release guidance. Their team will collect all of the assets at the end of the event on August 25th and will create two 40-60 minute session edits that you can use to create your videos from. Their team plans to get a hard drive shipped to a greenlit creator by August 26th, and rough cuts will need to be delivered by August 31st.

The footage will include capture from a multiple-camera set-up, so you'll need to account for a proper sync of the footage and any audio. Onscreen text will be required, including an opening title, accurate speaker lower thirds, brief bits of contextual copy, limited pull quotes, an end card, and accessible captions. If you believe 2D or 3D motion graphics could also elevate the assets, please make sure to include examples in your pitch. No newly recorded voiceover will be available, and the approved speaker audio should carry the story. If you believe it could be helpful, they're open to voiceover, and you can propose voiceover recommendations.

All videos should include strong speaker moments first, supported by clean branding, with restrained graphics, clear context, and an organized beginning, middle, and end. You should keep in mind that these videos will primarily live on First American's corporate executive team's LinkedIn, and YouTube, while also being used on internal First American channels and presentations. We want to make sure the edits feel professional and polished both in their content and style, but you should also think about these social channels and ways you can make sure your edit grabs and keeps attention while staying informative.

FOR YOUR PITCH: We're looking for you to edit a :15-30 sample video that can display how you would cut together the main flagship video. You can use the existing clips shared under the below Assets. In addition to your sample edit, please keep in mind that we'll be relying on your past work links, as well, so make sure that they match tonally to what First American is looking for, so maybe avoid links to your comedic or romantic work for this one.

Additionally, assistive AI tools (e.g. object removal, compositing, color grading, sound mixing, subtitling, etc.) may be used in post-production to supplement your workflow. Please keep record of any AI usage deployed in your submissions in the event that the Sponsor requests AI disclosures. If you have questions about any specific usage or tool, please ask your Tongal producer.

By participating in this project, creators acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to greenlight a submission. Though most projects do move forward, we'll notify you in the event the Sponsor decides not to fund any submissions via the Project Forum. Regardless of the result, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Sponsor and project team.

ABOUT FIRST AMERICAN:

First American is a title insurance company that protects your ownership to a property. Like running a background check on your property, First American uncovers any issues of ownership, while also protecting you from any issues of ownership that could show up later. First American believes that being informed helps people move through real estate transactions with confidence.

KEY MESSAGING:

  • Property ownership only works when the system behind it holds; today, that system is under pressure.
  • Clear title, accurate property records, consumer understanding, and fraud prevention help people feel secure in what they own.
  • First American brings deep knowledge of title, property records, and the systems that support real estate transactions and ownership confidence.
  • Protecting property rights supports family stability, community resilience, and the ability to pass value from one generation to the next.
  • First American serves as an educational host and convener, not a political participant or advocate.
