FIAT wants to know YOUR fun and inspirational ownership story and bring it to life! Tell us what being a FIAT owner means to you!
** PROJECT UPDATE: For Wildcard Videos the subject must fill out a Sponsor Applicant Form in order to win a prize. PLEASE READ THE VEHICLE GUIDELINES BEFORE TURNING IN A WILDCARD VIDEO. ALL VIDEOS MUST ABIDE BY THOSE GUIDELINES! **
Story Locations:
Just like how your taste in music and clothing can say a lot about who you are, your car too speaks a lot about your personality and how you define yourself. So with thousands of vehicles to choose from, buying or leasing a FIAT is a very deliberate decision separating FIAT owners from the crowd.
Whether you've chosen a FIAT because of its good looks, or because it's so fun to drive, or because it’s just incredibly practical, all FIAT owners know how quickly your FIAT becomes a part of your identity and a vehicle for your personal expression.
Working with Tongal, FIAT wants to know YOUR fun and inspirational ownership story and bring it to life! Tell us what being a FIAT owner means to you!
Please read below for more information:
The goal of this project is to produce an entertaining, inspiring, aspirational and relatable ONE to THREE minute Video around an authentic FIAT owner’s Story. We want viewers to see FIAT as a lifestyle brand that is a reflection of their passions and interests, and in turn, drive top of mind awareness, consideration, and interest in the brand. The takeaway should be: The FIAT brand not only offers “me” a vehicle “I” need for my life but is a lifestyle brand that embodies the same city-centric passions and interests “I “ have.
We want viewers to become aware of the FIAT brand and show off its brand persona and its brand pillars:
Brand Persona:
FIAT is an admired source of lifestyle content for city-minded Creative Innovators. Aside from making great cars, we are deeply cultured in the verticals of art, music, dining, travel and fashion.
Brand Pillars:

This project will be worth a total of $120,000 and consists of THREE Phases: a Story Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: STORY - Tell us your FIAT Owners' Story in 500 characters or less. You will also need to submit an image of yourself and your FIAT.
The winning Story creators will receive $500 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Story. (That means if your winning Story is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $1,000, 2nd place Video $800, 3rd place Video $500, 4th place - 8th place Video $350)– see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
NOTE: Payment for a win in the Story phase is contingent on your completion of the Winner’s Affidavit, the IP Assignment, and cooperation with the winning filmmaker selected to bring your Story to life in the subsequent Pitch Phase. IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A STORY ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE, YOUR PAYMENT AND RESIDUAL PAYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON HIS/HER PARTICIPATION. THE FILMMAKER IS NOT REQUIRED TO OFFER ANY COMPENSATION TO THE SUBJECT.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase using:
The SEVEN (7) most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $5,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $7,000 at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $20,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Story winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO - The SEVEN (7) winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a ONE to THREE minute Video based upon his/her winning Pitch.
NOTE: The ONE to THREE minute Video and Social Pack: ONE (1) Behind-the-Scenes Video up to 60 seconds long, 5 Still Images, 1 Vine Video are both due at the close of the Video Phase.
All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on one of the winning Stories from the previous Phase or a totally original Story that is not based on any winning material from the Story Phase. NOTE: Your Video must still be based on a TRUE Story and cannot have actors in place of the original Story subject.
The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the highest scoring Wildcard Video along with the SEVEN (7) winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the SEVEN (7) Pitch winners, along with the winning Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $20,000, 2nd place $16,000, 3rd place $10,000, 4th – 8th place $7,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Story winners, as applicable).
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.
Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
