Produce a 60-second Video with both a 30- and a 15-second cutdown that celebrates the athletes who never stop performing and will drive awareness and sales for EAS 100% Whey family of protein products.
Fitness is a personal quest. It’s about you – the you you are today, the you you were yesterday, and the you you will become. Because you know that the clock doesn’t stop when the workout’s over; your five mile run turns to six miles, those 12 laps in the pool turned to 20, you “run it back” one more time on the court. You’re not done until you know that you’ve given it your all.. You don’t measure success in PRs, but in ripped gloves, worn out running shoes, torn basketball nets, broken hockey sticks – all “trophies” of your determination and commitment to your sport. You’re not building toward a moment, but a body of athleticism that stands the test of time. Regardless of age, you have the discipline and drive to know there’s always more work to do, and you’re always prepared to do it.
But racing the sunrise to the top of Griffith Park or repeating rep after rep until you complete a perfect set of burpees takes a toll on you. You get sore. You get tired. You’re only human, after all. And that’s what EAS 100% Whey is all about. It’s high quality protein that digests quickly without fillers, added sugar or proprietary blends to help you push your performance and create your legacy. Because your legacy is always in the making.
EAS has a long and unmatched history of being a pioneer in sports nutrition and has helped to build the legacies of athletes for 20+ years. EAS 100% Whey is part of a family of protein supplements that includes protein bars and protein powders in addition to ready-to-drink protein shakes. To get this message out, EAS is turning to the Tongal community for creative inspiration.
Check out the Objectives section for more information…
The goal of this project is to produce an original and creative 60-second Video with both a 30- and a 15-second cutdown for social, and a suite of 20 photo stills, that celebrates the athletes who never stop performing and will drive awareness and sales for EAS 100% Whey family of protein products.
With all of the products in the sports, health, and athletic categories, it’s important that you try to find an approach that feels fresh, energetic, and authentic to the lifestyles of dedicated lifetime athletes. Think about the discipline and drive that leads an athlete to always deliver their all and never stop striving to create their legacy, regardless of where they are in life. Be sure to check out the inspiration provided down by Tone.
Ideators, some fuel for your inspiration:
PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:
IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
--Anticipated Timeline:
Please note that this timeline is subject to change. Filmmakers, please note that the sponsor has two rounds of revisions on this project.
--Deliverables Due: At the close of the Video Phase, you will be responsible to deliver, as separate submissions:
--Key Marketing Messages:
--Target Audience: Lifetime athletes who hold their work ethic above all others. They understand the dedication, persistence and perseverance needed to perform consistently at a high level like no one else can or does. They’re not necessarily the most gifted athletes, but what they lack in natural ability, they make for in the extra effort they leave on the field of play – they never give less than their all. They are the first ones in the gym, the pool, or on the court and always the last ones to leave. They are never finished, but have the evidence of the work that’s gone into their training (the aforementioned torn basketball nets, worn-down running shoes, broken gloves, etc.) because they know they are forever in the making.
--Executional Mandatories:
--Tone: Aspirational, relatable, introspective, not overly-hyped. Avoid overly dark imagery and being overly “gym-focused.” Under Armor is an aspirational brand for EAS 100% Whey (though you should not show Under Armor branding on anything in your video).
--Tonal Inspiration: Helpful references within the category and adjacent to it that the EAS team thought might be helpful for filmmakers. Ideators should NOT mirror these videos or concepts in their submissions, but use them as inspiration while you try to create something unique and on-brief.
--Exposure: Intended for use on digital and social media, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Instagram video and pre-roll advertising. This will also live on the brand’s website.
--Product: Product will be provided.
Do NOT use any product that is not provided by the brand. They are currently going through a transition in the market, and you will not be able to guarantee that you’re using the correct product without using something provided by the brand.
You should include the entire product family in the 2D end card, and should communicate that 100% Whey is a portfolio of products, visually or otherwise. Assets will be provided in the Assets tab.
This Project will be worth a total of dollar amount and consists of four Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for EAS 100% Whey in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Video based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the Video, you will receive $725)– see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $11,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $14,500 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winner). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
PHASE 4: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner will create a 60-second Video, with a 30-second and a 15-second cutdown, and 20 stills based upon their winning Pitch. The 60-second Video, 30- and 15-second cutdowns, and 20 stills are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.
The Judges will score the winning Video submitted by Pitch winner to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the Pitch winner will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn $14,500 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winner, as applicable).
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.
Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won, up to $500. That’s a potential $500 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
