Scabs stink at helping you heal. Covering a wound with a BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandage can help heal 5 days faster. Create two 20-30 second videos of various people writing breakup letters to scabs, in the vein of Jimmy Fallon’s “Thank You Notes.”

BAND-AID® Brand wants to tell the world that a covered wound heals five days faster. When you cover a cut, scrape, blister, or scratch with a BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive bandage you create a moisture rich environment that allows a wound to heal properly, without forming scabs that slow down the healing process and can turn into scars.

It’s time to break up with scabs for good. BAND-AID® Brand wants the Tongal community to help spread the breakup message with Videos that show people writing “Dear Scab” letters to their wounds, saying goodbye to scabs forever in favor of a faster, cleaner healing process.

Using the five “Dear Scab” scripts provided, create two (2) 20-30 second Videos (with a 15-second cut down and five (5) stills for each video) that humorously and effectively spread the message that covered wounds heal up to five days faster than scabbed-over wounds exposed to the air.

BAND-AID® Brand has provided five brand-approved scripts that you will base your Pitches on. Your Pitch on each script should demonstrate how you will deliver the message visually in a humorous and witty but not sarcastic way; think inclusive, identifiable, and playful. Obviously writing a break-up letter to a scab is a goofy idea, so have fun with it while clearly communicating the message and educating the viewer that wounds covered with BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages can heal five days faster.

The “Dear Scab” scripts are available in the Assets Tab.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards (REQUIRED): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $15,000 to help create the Videos.  Additionally, upon submitting Videos that satisfy the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $15,000  First Place video prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: VIDEO – The winner from the Pitch Phase will create two (2) 20-30 second Videos based upon their winning Pitch, along with one (1) 15-second cutdown and five (5) stills per Video.

NOTE: The  20-30 second Videos, 15-second cutdowns, and stills are all due at the close of the Video Phase. Please upload them as separate videos when submitting your Videos.

The Judges will score the winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the Pitch winner will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: The winner of the Video Phase will earn $15,000.

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE.  They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form.
