Using the iconic Chucky doll, design a poster to celebrate two upcoming holidays, Presidents' Day and International Women's Day, drawing inspiration from USA & SYFY's Chucky TV series, and encouraging viewers to stream the series on Peacock.

It's a New Year, and Chucky's not dead yet! That's right, America's favorite killer doll will be returning in 2024 for the second half of season 3 of USA & SYFY's Chucky TV Series. To keep the Chucky vibes alive, USA & SYFY are looking for two different artists to each design one poster that showcases Chucky and Tiffany, respectively, getting in the presidential and feminine spirit. Specifically, we're looking for one poster that celebrates Presidents' Day with Chucky as the central focus, and another poster that celebrates International Women's Day with Jennifer Tilly and/or Tiffany as the focus. For International Women's Day, you're also welcome to include other women from the series, such as Nica or Lexy, so feel free to be creative in your approach! USA & SYFY will ultimately assign each greenlit artist to one holiday, but if you have great ideas for both, we encourage you to submit multiple pitches.

We're looking for people who are talented designers and artists, but we're also looking for people who are overall fans of Chucky. Chucky is one of the most famous dolls in pop culture, and his slashing, conniving methods of terror have left the horror genre forever scarred. Your design should pay homage to Chucky's legacy, while cleverly incorporating content and themes from your assigned holiday. Importantly, your poster design should NOT be tied to the events of season 3; instead, your design should be a celebration of the Chucky TV series as whole and tap into the nostalgia that people have for the franchise. While either Chucky or Tiffany should be the hero of your design, other dolls featured in the series can be included as well (official reference images of the dolls will be provided to the greenlit artists).

For your pitch, we'd like you to give us a clear idea of the visual approach that you're going for, so we're asking that you submit links to your artist portfolio, along with a PDF document containing three examples of past work that are representative of the artistic style you'd use to create your design. We're looking for a variety of styles and aesthetics here, so you are welcome to showcase different artistic variations if you have the capability. The important part is giving us an idea of how your personal style and the Chucky universe intersect. To that end, you also have the option to submit a proof-of-concept image if you think that's helpful.

For Presidents' Day inspiration, check out the Chucky Political Campaign Posters content we made last year. If you're pitching for this particular holiday, it will be important to review these and ensure that your concept stands out as a separate, individual piece.

Check out more details in the Background section, or reach out in the Project Forum if you have any questions.

Two winning designers will receive the following:

  • $1,800 to create your assigned Chucky holiday poster

USA & SYFY's Chucky TV series is helmed by Child's Play creator Don Mancini and features several fan-favorite cast members like Jennifer Tilly and Brad Dourif (the original voice of Chucky). If you need to play catch up, check out the official Chucky page on SYFY's website.

Be sure to check out the winning designs of other Chucky projects we've done with USA & SYFY in the past to get your creative juices flowing. USA & SYFY are NOT looking for replicas of any style in particular here. Instead, these should give you a sense of the breadth of artistic styles and overall quality level that we're looking for.

The two most compelling pitches will be greenlit, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide a high-resolution final image and layered design files, if applicable, in order to submit final payment.

If this sounds like a lot, don't worry: a Tongal Producer will reach out and help you through the process each step of the way.

  1. In addition to the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment, greenlit Video creators MUST also provide Talent, Location, Music (or other) Releases for all assets appearing in their Videos, as well as a photograph/headshot OR copy of a photo ID for all On-camera Talent releases. You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec to claim your earnings. Tongal also reserves the right to request all raw files associated with the project.

  2. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

  3. In the event you utilize any third-party materials, such as music provided by a third-party music provider not provided by Tongal, you must obtain full written license and consent from the owner of such third-party materials and provide such license and consent forms to Tongal.

  4. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.

  5. Preferred format for upload to the Tongal website is HD 720p and formatted for the aspect ratios listed in the Deliverables (e.g. 16x9). Acceptable file formats are .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wmv.
