Chucky Pride Month Poster Design Project
Fan Artwork
04/21/22 - 05/05/22

Hey Chucky fans - wanna play?! We're looking for artists and illustrators to submit a unique poster design for the hit Chucky TV series that celebrates Pride Month in June by using characters and thematic visuals from the show to touch on Chucky's connections to the LGBTQIA+ community.

By now, we all know the infamous doll Chucky - but did you also know he's the star of a TV series that was recently nominated for a GLAAD Media Award? As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, Chucky creator Don Mancini has made it a priority to portray positive and inclusive representation. Based on his own experiences, at the heart of the series is a queer teen romance.

With Pride Month right around the corner, USA & SYFY want Chucky to break out his rainbow flag and join in the celebration! We're looking for FOUR different artists to design a poster that celebrates LGBTQIA+ Pride using characters and themes from season one of the Chucky TV show. Through your art, show us how the Chucky series has impacted you, and what it means to see this type of representation in media. We're looking for people who are talented artists and designers - but we're also looking for people who are authentically connected to the LGBTQIA+ community and fans of Chucky and the horror genre more generally.

When it comes to the poster itself, we're looking for a variety of styles and aesthetics, and you're not limited to a specific medium, so get creative! You should create your poster in a 4x5 aspect ratio. If helpful to your process, check out these official cast photos and portraits of the Chucky doll. Don Mancini himself will even be a part of the selection process!

Read through some more details below, and then get your pencils, pens, paints, and digital tablets ready.

Four winning artists will receive the following:

  • $1,250 for your poster artwork
  • Work featured on the official Chucky, USA, and SYFY social channels

USA & SYFY's Chucky series is helmed by Child's Play creator Don Mancini and features several returning cast members like Jennifer Tilly and Brad Dourif (the original voice of Chucky). Set in a small American town that finds itself plunged into utter chaos when a vintage 'Good Guy' doll shows up at a local yard sale, soon everyone must grapple with a series of horrifying murders that begin to expose the town's deep hypocrisies and hidden secrets.

In order to be eligible for this contest, you must include the below materials in your Artwork submission. You may submit up to five times.

  • ARTWORK (REQUIRED): Upload an image of your completed Artwork (in a 4x5 aspect ratio) as a JPEG or PNG. Note that if you are selected, you will be required to provide a high-resolution 300 DPI layered PSD of your Artwork.

  • SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES (REQUIRED): Please provide any relevant social media handles you have for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc., so SYFY can tag you if you're selected as a runner-up or as the grand prize winner.

The 4 most compelling pieces of Art will be selected, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers detailing next steps. All submitters will also receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full schedule in the Assets section.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide a high-resolution final image and layered design files, if applicable, in order to submit final payment.
