Edit a large suite of supplemental YouTube clip content for fans of USA Network’s hit reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best.

Chrisley Knows Best returns for its 7th season this May, having already racked up 118 episodes, and a successful spinoff series, which was itself just renewed for a 2nd season. Fans can’t get enough Chrisley family shenanigans, and they’re increasingly turning to the YouTube channel and looking for more of what they crave; recaps, character highlights, memorable scenes, comedy supercuts, etc. Now, USA is asking for an editor to help create more of this supplemental video clip content for the YouTube channel, using footage from the original episodes, in three different video formats.

USA will provide original masters for episodes before they air, as well as episode descriptions, branding guidelines, and some story direction, in addition to the three deliverable formats outlined below. We just need you to do a stellar job putting it all together, to give fans the Chrisley fix they crave.

DELIVERABLES: As currently planned, the full suite would include the following:

  • (26) 2-3 minute Episode Recap Videos – These videos will be derived from the masters of individual episodes from Season 7. Each will serve as a lightly branded summary of the episode for fan’s reference on YouTube.
  • (5) 2-3 minute Topical Character Videos – Based on loose themes that tie into holidays, events, seasons, or topics, these videos will lift clips from the series and tie a specific character to the theme. At least 2 of these videos will relate to Season 7; the others can pull from any episode. Videos will incorporate more Chrisley branding for title cards and text.
  • (5) 3-4 minute Top 10 List Videos – Similar to a supercut or listicle, this will be a short highlight reel that pulls together 10 memorable moments, lines, or gags, etc. that connect to a specific theme. At least 2 of these videos will relate to Season 7; the others can pull from any episode. Videos will incorporate more Chrisley branding for title cards and text.

TIMELINE:  There will be a rolling schedule with continuous weekly deliveries, and roughly two videos delivered every week for about 16 weeks after an editor is selected. For the full project timeline, please see the Assets tab.

EXPOSURE: All videos will be produced for the Chrisley Knows Best YouTube Channel.  Please note that USA Network content is only available in the US and US Territories only, and outside of the US it will be difficult for you to engage with this project.

TARGET AUDIENCE: The demographic skews heavily female, with almost a third in the 25-34 age range, and a quarter in the 18-24 age range.

TONE: USA has found the audience responds to:

  • A refreshingly blunt tone
  • A bit of weirdness and eccentricity
  • A relatable star & situation
  • A mix of family values and faith

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • You will be required to submit a sample 2-3 minute Recap Video for your Pitch Submission, using footage from a previously aired episode, Episode 615.
  • All footage used in your videos must come from the assets provided by USA Network.
  • Recap videos can only include footage from Season 7.
  • Every video must end with a simple title card with motion graphics that provides a blank slate for the USA team to incorporate YouTube action buttons like Subscribe, More Info, and More Clips.

Tonally, Chrisley Knows Best succeeds with its blunt tone and its unflinching embrace of the eccentricities of Todd Chrisley and his family. Humor is front and center, and it should be the same with your videos. These have to be just as fun as the show. Take a look at some of the existing content that Chrisley Knows Best already offers on its YouTube channel:

Creatively, the recap videos should be straightforward as a format. The Topical Character Videos and Top 10 Videos should then basically pull relevant and especially entertaining clips that match the theme of each video, although you'll be brief more on those if you are selected. Some of those clips may come from previous seasons, you may need to dig a little deeper.

NOTE: USA Network content is only available in the US and US Territories only.

In order to be considered for this project you must include the below materials in your Pitch submission. For examples of effective Pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • SAMPLE RECAP VIDEO (REQUIRED): Submit ONE 2-3 minute sample Recap video based on the information provided above and utilizing the provided assets (download the assets HERE). For music, Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers that you can use for your Pitch: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound, any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into this Pitch. These providers will NOT be available for the final videos (more info on that below).

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • TREATMENT (OPTIONAL): Introduce the Sponsor to yourself, your team, and your capabilities. If there was any additional relevant information that would help with regards to the full suite, you can include it as well. If it's helpful to you, we've provided a Treatment template, which you can find here.

The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive payments to help create the Video Suite. Please note the payment of the Pitch award is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal. Please see the full payment schedule in the Assets tab.

REVISION REQUIREMENTS: Once individual Videos are submitted, Editors will enter Revisions. During this phase, editors will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback.

MUSIC:  You will be required to use the USA-approved music provider Frequency to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from this provider is available only to the Pitch Winners at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. Pitch Winners will be provided with a log-in and access by a Tongal producer once they are selected.

ASSET DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS: You must also provide all project files, editing sequences and a 1080p .mov master file, using a ProRes, Animation, or Uncompressed Codec in order to submit final payment. You will be responsible for the costs associated the hard drive (if necessary) and shipping.

Although this event is unlikely, by participating in this project, editors acknowledge that the Sponsor is under no obligation to pay out the remainder of the prizing in the event that the project is canceled.  Tongal will discuss change with you in the event USA decides to make any changes to scope of the project.
