You know that feeling. Last night, there was a teeny tickle in the back of your throat and, by the time you woke up this morning, it felt like Godzilla was sitting on your larynx. You'd be screaming a lot of four-letter words right now if it didn't hurt to say them.
There's nothing worse than having a sore throat. Moms need relief and they need it fast. For example, it’s tough to tell little Billy to get out of that tree, or to tell Katie to take the rollers out of the golden retriever’s hair if you can barely speak. And that’s just when you’re the one suffering. How about when the kids get hit? What’s standing between you and full blown domestic Armageddon?
Chloraseptic spray and lozenges relieve throat pain faster than you can say, “Aah!” No wonder Chloraseptic is the #1 pharmacist recommended product for soothing sore throats. For over 50 years, moms have turned to Chloraseptic to instantly ease their little ones’ throat pain. It’s real relief. Real fast.
Now Chloraseptic wants you to get the word out. They’re looking for clever and funny videos to show just how fast and effective Chloraseptic spray and lozenges are. So ask yourself this question: how can moms use Chloraseptic to instantly turn a bad day around? Because someone needs to tell Billy to get out of that tree. Now.
The goal of this project is to create a 15-30 second video that communicates the ability of Chloraseptic (spray or lozenges) to provide fast and effective relief in a creative and engaging way. Videos must communicate the product benefits to the consumer in a mind- or heart-opening manner and be both memorable and sharable.
--Key Marketing Messages: “Chloraseptic. Real relief. Real fast.” The tagline does NOT have to be included the video, however videos need to communicate that Chloraseptic spray or lozenges provide real relief, real fast.
--Target Audience: Everyday moms, 35-45, who are considered “Chief Health Officer” of the home.
• They are generally married with larger households with children, ages 5-13
• They are considered no-nonsense and just wants thing that work/efficacy
• When it comes to medicines – anything that works faster, longer, or stronger is a positive thing in their book.
--Tone: Humor is ok, but nothing distasteful (i.e. potty humor) or anything that would disparage the brand or the company, Prestige Brands. No profanity. As for a movie, a comedy would be most appropriate – not too dramatic (it’s a sore throat after all), but not too comedic (the pain of sore throats can be significant at times).
--Executional Mandatories:
• Product needs to be integrated into the story line in an ownable fashion (i.e. if you can remove Chloraseptic and the story makes sense, then its not integrated; if you can replace Chloraseptic with a competitive product and the story makes sense, then its not ownable)
• Videos must feature either Chloraseptic spray or Chloraseptic lozenges. Do not mix products. One or the other.
--Exposure: Incorporation to the Chloraseptic website and all other branded social media channels (Facebook, YouTube)
This project will be worth a total of $45,000 and consists of three phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for a Chloraseptic video in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for the winning Video their Idea is used to generate. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $1,000, for the 2nd place Video, you will receive $500, for the 3rd place Video, you will receive $250, 4th place Video, you will receive $175, and for the 5th place Video you will receive $125) – see Video Phase Payout details below.
PHASE 2: PITCH – Using text (500 characters or less), images (storyboards), video, and external links (to other supporting assets, i.e., your reel, etc.), give us your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) for how YOU would go about producing a 15-30 second video based on the information contained herein. The THREE most compelling Pitches will be selected and will each receive $1,000 to help create their Video. Those winners (upon submitting their Winner's Affidavit and IP Assignment) will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you submit a video during the Video Phase, you will win an additional $2,500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $20,000 first place Video prize. Remember your Pitch can include any, and all, of the assets mentioned above and you MUST include a link to some of your previous video work on Tongal or elsewhere to be considered for this phase. For an example of an effective pitch, check out check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs”. All Pitches will remain private until after the winners of the Video Phase are announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The THREE winners from the Pitch Phase will create a 15-30 second video based upon their winning Pitches, and all other creators are invited to enter a “Wild Card” (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that is not based on any winning material from the previous phases. The Judges will review all Wild Card Videos and the two highest scoring Wild Card Videos and the three winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be reviewed to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the THREE Pitch winners, along with two non-Pitch Video creators, will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $20,000, 2nd place $10,000, 3rd place $5,000, 4th place $3,500, 5th place $2,500.

Killer Tracks’ music will be available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into official Submissions to this Project. No other use is permitted.
