In this Call for Artists, we're looking for talented illustrators with an expertise in anime to share their past anime illustration work to be considered to help develop concept art for a series in the early stages of pitch development.
Get ready to break out your digital sketchbook and help visualize the first looks of a new show that is in the very early stages of development. In this project, we're looking to find a few artists who have a specialty in anime illustration to create concept art for the show pitch deck. Initially, if selected, you'll be tasked with creating 5-10 images to gauge stylistic fit. In success, we may be regularly engaging certain artists to continue developing concept art as we build out the deck.
Since the primary goal here is finding the right creative partner, we're intentionally not asking for much in terms of submission requirements. Right now, we're just looking for past illustration work in an anime style and optionally a little more information about you and/or your team. More information will be provided upon completion of an NDA and initial meeting with the creative team. The goal is to have the shortlist of artists together by the week of March 31 so that we can start onboarding them through a series of short kickoff calls, so make sure you'll be available at some point that week to take a call. Budget and compensation will be negotiable based on the scope of work to be discussed then, but we're expecting to pay out between $175 - $350 per image depending on whether it's a full page illustration, or smaller character mockups and set design elements.
While we are only looking for illustrators for this project, we may eventually be looking to create animatics or rough concept animations, so if you do have animation capabilities please let us know in your submissions. This is by no means required, though, so if you're simply the best anime illustrator out there, we absolutely still want to see your work!
