Through the use of compelling stories create engaging, fun and shareable videos that highlight Planet Hollywood & The LINQ’s newly renovated rooms.
What does a Bachelorette party, a 35th birthday celebration, a friends’ reunion, and a girl’s getaway weekend all have in common? These are all exciting and memorable experiences that should take place in Las Vegas and more importantly at a Caesars Entertainment (CET) property. Specifically, we’re talking about Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and The LINQ. Both properties offer top of the line amenities, allowing guests to leave their worries at the door and focus on what’s most important -- having an awesome time!
So Tongalers, this is where you come in. Caesars needs your help to create fun, vibrant, and exciting videos that show how Planet Hollywood and The LINQ contribute to the best Las Vegas experience through their world class amenities and exquisite newly renovated rooms.
While we want to utilize the beautiful imagery of these two hotels and their amazing amenities, we do NOT want the standard, run of the mill hotel sizzle reel. Your videos should tell an interesting, unique, and original story about the on-property experiences at Planet Hollywood and The LINQ. The Sponsor is asking that your Concept submissions incorporate one of the following scenarios:
The Pitch winner will be required to shoot a separate video for each of the winning Concepts based on the above scenarios. The winning production team will receive accommodations at one of the properties during the shoot.
Please be sure to check out the Project Objectives for ALL the important details!
The goal of this project is to create an entertaining and engaging video suite that highlights Planet Hollywood and The LINQ world class amenities and newly renovated rooms. Aside from showcasing Planet Hollywood and The LINQ, your Videos should also communicate that Las Vegas is the ultimate destination for groups of friends looking to create fun, exciting and memorable experiences.
While we want to utilize the beautiful imagery of these two hotels and their world class amenities, we do NOT want the standard, run of the mill hotel sizzle reel. Your Videos should tell an interesting, unique, and original story about the on-property experience at Planet Hollywood and The LINQ. Think of possibly interweaving the stories ala the film Crash. Have fun with this one!
ATTENTION IDEATORS: When submitting your Concepts, please select from the dropdown menu which storyline you’re submitting against.
NOTE TO PITCH PHASE SUBMITTERS: Caesars wants each video to focus on 1 property only (all PH or all LINQ); however, but would be open to concepts that feature amenities from multiple properties if the filmmaker feels that the mix greatly enhances the storyline. Please make sure your pitch is on each of the 4 concepts as one (1) Planet Hollywood & one (1) LINQ Pitch will be chosen as the winners of the 4 concepts pitched on.
Caesars would like your pitches to highlight Planet Hollywood and The LINQ in two separate master videos. Below is the list of amenities Caesars would like to consider featuring at each of the properties.
Planet Hollywood:
The LINQ:
The Video Deliverables need to be broken down as follows:
Girls’ Weekend: (Planet Hollywood)
Friends’ Weekend (mix of guys and girls): (The LINQ)
Still Photos: In addition to the videos the winning producer must deliver a total of 40 stills pulled from footage. You are required to submit 10 stills per hotel room (Planet Hollywood and The LINQ) totaling 20 stills total from the hotel rooms and 10 stills per Hotel (amenity photos for each hotel) totaling 20 stills total from each hotel’s amenities.
IMPORTANT: Both of these master videos will have a story told that incorporates both the room and the amenities of the properties. So, the key here is to make the long form master videos that show the progression of the hotel room connecting to the hotel amenities. It’s not mandatory, but it would be really cool and smart if you’re able to interweave these storylines between both the Girls’ Weekend & the Friends’ Weekend.
For the Girls’ Weekend Master Video, the master video should include the girls using a newly renovated Planet Hollywood hotel room in the story that also connects the hotel’s amenities (more information on the amenities is below).
The Friends’ Weekend should do the same: video should include a mix of guys & girls showing the use of The LINQ’s newly renovated rooms being used in some capacity in the story and then integrating The LINQ’s Promenade and other amenities.
Below is some additional Information on each hotel.
PLANET HOLLYWOOD HOTEL & CASINO
Consumer Benefit: At Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino, guests are immersed in the glamour and excitement of modern Hollywood.
Reason to Believe: Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino provides guests with electrifying excitement on its casino floor, trendy shops in Miracle Mile, eclectic dining outlets, and the proximity to world-famous stars such as Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and soon, the Backstreet Boys. The property continuously evolves in order to improve the guest experience.
Brand Character: Youthful, Hip, Cool, Trendy, Charismatic, Captivating, Electric, Outgoing, Fun, Accessible.
NOTE: Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has moved away from it’s film theme and heavy incorporation of movie memorabilia toward a hip and cool destination that allows guests to experience the glamour and excitement of today’s modern Hollywood. Planet Hollywood should be portrayed as the place where everyone can feel like a VIP.
Planet Hollywood locations:
THE LINQ
Consumer Benefit: The LINQ provides dynamic experiences that guests will want to share with their networks. This is the place where guests can stay and play, creating a memorable visit, steeped in an independent spirit that evokes the excitement of urban revitalization and discovery through a single curated lifestyle destination.
Reason to Believe: The LINQ provides a multi-sensory hospitality and entertainment destination that promotes discovery. It presents a curated set of offerings that are both approachable and affordable while maintaining an individualistic and authentic spirit. The LINQ offers a fresh, innovative perspective with eco-friendly offerings and modern style. It delivers unique and fun experiences, combining technology and shareable moments to provide a sense of connectedness that is critical for the guest audience.
Brand Character: Energetic, not contrived; approachable, never avant-garde or pretentious; always forward looking and innovative.
NOTE: As one of the newer properties on the Strip, The LINQ is still relatively unknown. As a result, content may need to provide additional context about the property and the brand experience than some of the other, more established brands (e.g. Caesars Palace). Further, due to the Millennial target, The LINQ brand more strongly emphasizes the social/shareable aspect of each experience.
The LINQ locations:
NOTE: The winning Filmmaker will be responsible for ALL travel expenses (i.e. Airfare, fuel, transportation rental, Misc.). Caesars will only cover room and board for cast and crew during the days of the shoot.
PRE-PRODUCTION NOTE: This project includes a Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). This means you will be required to submit certain items for Approval before moving onto the Video Phase. The Approval items for this project are:
IMPORTANT: No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
If you’re selected as a Pitch Winner, a Tongal producer will email you to help walk you through the Pre-Production and Approvals process.
NOTE: The long form video, up to 2 minutes in length, the 60-second, 30-second, 15-second cutdowns (optimized for Facebook) and 40 total still images (20 still images per property) are all due at the close of the Video Phase, along with the 2D end card. Please upload them as separate videos to the Tongal site.
--Target Audience: Millennials and young Gen X-ers, ages 21-40, who are planning to visit Las Vegas. The goal is to motivate them to book at a CET property.
--Executional Mandatories: All video cuts MUST showcase the new room products at each property.
--Tone: The content should be engaging and fun. We don’t want this to look like a sizzle reel or an overly formal commercial. It should tell a story that motivates guests to book a room at a CET property for their stay in Las Vegas.
--Exposure: Social media (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and CET company website and blog.

This Project will be worth a total of $50,000 and consists of five Phases: a Concept Phase, a Pitch Phase, a Pre-Production Phase, a Video Phase and a Revisions Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: CONCEPT – Tell us your Concept for in 250 characters or less. Remember, a Concept (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Concepts should be clever and engaging. The winning Concept creators will receive $500 each.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Concepts from the previous Phase using:
The most compelling Pitch will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will receive $24,000 to help create the Videos. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $24,000, at a minimum. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: PRE-PRODUCTION – The one Pitch Winner from the Pitch Phase will enter the Pre-Production Phase (What is a Pre-Production Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will need to receive the following Approvals from the brand:
No filmmakers may begin shooting their Video until all Approvals are completed and the Video Phase has officially begun. If you begin shooting your Video during the Pre-Production Phase, there is a chance you will need to reshoot (at your own expense) so please don’t jump the gun.
PHASE 4: VIDEO – Once the Pre-Production Phase is complete, the Pitch Winner will create 2 Master Videos, up to 2-minutes in length, with Four (4) :60-second cutdowns, Two (2) :30-second cutdowns, Two (2) :15-second cutdowns, along with 10 still images based upon their winning Pitch.
--Video Phase Payout: The winner of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $24,000.
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Jingle Punks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.
Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.
If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.
--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential $500 in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
PHASE 5: REVISIONS – Once the Video Phase has closed, the winning submitter will enter the Revisions Phase (What is a Revisions Phase?). During this phase, filmmakers will perform reasonable edits on their Videos according to the Sponsor’s feedback. Once the Videos are finalized, the Sponsor will rank the Videos and winners will be announced.
