Sensitive teeth are not only painful, they can make you do embarrassing things like sip ice cold beer through a straw, chill gourmet soup with ice cubes or contort your face like you’re getting a root canal when trying to enjoy an ice cream cone!

Thankfully, there’s a less painful (and humiliating) way to enjoy those favorite trigger foods: Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio.  Currently, 33% percent of the Mexican population suffers from dental sensitivity but only 15% of them use specialized toothpaste. Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio fills in the micro-holes in your teeth that create tiny conduits to your tooth’s nerve causing sensitivity. It prevents that uncomfortable stinging and allows you to enjoy those favorite treats pain-free.

Create a clever, funny and informative 20-60 second video specifically for the Mexican market that both educates and humorously depicts the effects of sensitive teeth and the vital relief that Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio provides.

NOTE: This is a Spanish language project specifically for the Mexican market. The actors and Spanish accent must be Mexican. The dialogue can all be off camera and a VO can be utilized so as not to limit the creative.

--Key Marketing Message: Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio gives you the most effective solution to sensitive teeth so you are free to enjoy life and forget the pain caused by sensitivity.

--Executional Mandatories:

• Audio, dialogue, and voice over must be in Spanish (Mexican accent required).

• Mandatory length: min 20 seconds, max 1 minute for all executions

• Actors must have healthy teeth and cosmetically perfect upper and lower teeth teeth.

• Present Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio as the hero/solution for the condition

• Always mention the brand name “Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio”

• The use of Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio toothpaste is allowed. Always enhance the product and show it in a positive way

• All logos will be provided in the assets tab.

• Do not use blue/light blue colors in your video.

• Humor can be used, but nothing offensive and absolutely no bullying.

• Emotions / Mood should be transmitted through all elements (Visuals, Music, Environment, etc.)

--Target Audience: Latin American men and women, 25-45, in Mexico.

--Tone: Clever, funny and informative.

--Exposure: Colgate’s digital channels with the potential for broadcast use in Mexico.

This project will be worth a total of $25,000 and consist of three phases, an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: IDEA – Tell us your Idea for a Colgate Sensitive Pro Alivio commercial in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. Winning Idea creators will each receive $250 and a 5% one-time residual payment for every winning Video their Idea is used to generate. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $600, the 2nd place Video $350, and the 3rd place Video $175) – see Video Phase Payout details below.

PHASE 2: PITCH – Using text (500 characters or less), images (storyboards), video, and external links (to other supporting assets, i.e., your reel, etc.), give us your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?)  for how YOU would go about producing a 20 – 60 second video based on one of the winning Ideas. The TWO most compelling Pitches will be selected and will receive $1,000 each to help create their Video.  Those winners (upon submitting their Winner's Affidavit and IP Assignment) will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you submit a video during the Video Phase, you will win an additional $3,500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $12,000 first place Video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment).  Remember your Pitch can include any, and all, of the assets mentioned above and you MUST include a link to some of your previous video work on Tongal or elsewhere to be considered for this phase. For an example of an effective pitch, check out check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs”. All Pitches will remain private until after the winners of the Video Phase are announced and the Project is complete. Keep in mind, if you don’t win the Pitch Phase or choose not to create a Pitch, you will still have the opportunity to create and submit a “Wild Card” Video.

PHASE 3: VIDEO – The TWO winners from the Pitch Phase will create a 30 – 60 second video based upon their winning Pitches, and all other creators are invited to enter a “Wild Card” (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that is not based on any winning material from the previous phases.  The Judges will review all Wild Card Videos and the ONE (1) highest scoring Wild Card Video and the TWO (2) winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the TWO Pitch winners, along with ONE non-Pitch Video creator, will receive prizes.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $12,000, 2nd place $7,000, 3rd place $3,500 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to Idea winners, as applicable).
