Create TWO bold and energetic 15 second Videos (including bumper) to show that, once you and your friends bite into a Bomb Pop…BOOM! Anything can happen next.

Another lazy summer afternoon. You and your friends are staring down another day of discovery. But where do you start? You could go to the mall. Again. Or throw stones in the creek. Again. Or maybe climb the shed. Again.

You need to ignite some fun for the group to really take off from this moment. Luckily, you guys got Bomb Pops – that red, white and blue ice cream truck classic. One bite and your boring afternoon goes “Boom”. Like when you’re out for a casual everyday bike ride with your Bomb Pops, you take a bite! You guys suddenly stumble upon the most amazing tree house you’ve ever seen hidden in the woods. BOOM! It’s a moment you and your friends will never forget.

We want you to bottle that wild, spontaneous energy inside TWO clever and exciting Videos to show tweens what crazy things can happen when they bite into a Bomb Pop that can make good times with friends even better. Check out the Objectives tab to find out more!

===SPLIT===

  • The goal of this project is to create TWO bold and energetic 15 second Videos (including bumper) to show that, once you and your friends (at least 3 teens – must be 13 or older) bite into a Bomb Pop, anything can happen next. Videos should play off the exciting and spontaneous energy of Bomb Pops, showing us the absurd and hilarious fun tweens get into once they take a bite.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Each Pitch winner must produce TWO distinct 15 second videos (including bumper). Therefore, Pitches must outline concepts for two videos. Keep in mind the TWO Videos should be different, NOT versions of the same story.

  • No children under the age of 13 may appear or otherwise be identified in the Videos. Actors portraying tweens should be 13 or over but look young (not 16+).

BUMPER NOTE: You will need to create a bumper for your video. Bomb Pop will provide an end graphic for you to use in making your video. Once it is available, it will be posted in the forum and project Assets tab. Make sure to include the length of the bumper into the 15 second runtime when planning your videos.

--Key Marketing Messages:

  • Once you and your friends bite into a Bomp Pop – BOOM – anything can happen.
  • Show how Bomb Pop ignites a moment of connection for tweens.

--Target Audience: Boys and girls, aged 10-12 years old (but performers in the Videos must be age 13 or older)

--Executional Mandatories:

  • You must include at least THREE young teens in your Video.
  • No children under the age of 13 may appear or otherwise be identified in the Videos. Actors portraying tweens should be 13 or over but look young (not 16+).
  • Only use the original red, white & blue Bomb Pop flavor in your Video.
  • Do not show or mention any competing products/brands (i.e. Popsicle, Firecrackers, etc.). Note there are many red, white and blue ice pop knock offs in the marketplace, but only one Original Bomb Pop!
  • Be sure NOT to use the term “Popsicle” as a generic term for water ice products in your Video.
  • Don’t show any literal “bomb” references in your Video. No fiery explosions, bombs, etc.
  • Must show a moment of connection for these tweens, so you will need at least THREE young teens featured, but preferably more.
  • When ideating “what could happen next” after biting into a Bomb Pop, think extraordinary, but not completely fantastical experiences. Every moment should be grounded in reality. No escapism. No complete and total transformation to another place and time.
  • Your Video must not show overconsumption. No more than one Bomb Pop per person in your Video.
  • Don’t show any dangerous situations, inappropriate/sexual content or bullying/negativity.
  • Don’t mislead target audience as to results they can expect from eating a Bomb Pop

This Project will be worth a total of $50,000 and consists of 2 Phases: a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What Is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Optional): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards (Optional): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The five most compelling Pitches (based on the Judging Criteria identified in the Official Rules) will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $4,000 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting two Videos that are in compliance with the Official Rules and these Project Details, and that satisfy the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase.  So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submissions, you will win an additional $5,000 at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $10,000  First Place video prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out Erik Beck’s winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: VIDEO – The five winners from the Pitch Phase will each create TWO (2) 15-second videos (with bumper included in runtime) based upon their winning Pitch.

The Judges will score the five winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners to determine the standings for the Video Phase.  Remember, the five Pitch winners will each receive a $4,000 prize as result of winning Phase 1, as described above, and will also be eligible for a Phase 2 payout as described herein.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $10,000 2nd place $5,000 3rd place $5,000 4th place $5,000 and 5th place $5,000.

--Music: Tongal has partnered with two premiere music providers: Audioblocks and Epidemic Sound. Either of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. You may use up to THREE total tracks per Video submission, and they can come from either of the two providers listed above. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential $1,500 (up to $500 per place) in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.

13. The Sponsor will be entitled to reasonable revisions on the finished Videos without providing additional compensation. Remember it's easier to re-edit than re-shoot so try to get as much coverage as possible.
