For nearly a year now, Tongal community members like you have been contributing to the Tongal Blog, and we couldn’t be more impressed by the breadth of the topics you’ve chosen to tackle so far. Seriously, check out all of the great work under the ‘Community Guest Post’ tag.

It's been such a success that we're inviting you to submit your Blog Pitches ALL YEAR LONG! Submissions will be reviewed on a monthly basis, and if your Pitch catches our eye, we’ll commission you to write the final piece and publish it on our blog under your byline.

What You Need to Know

• We are offering $100 total for each Blog Post selected. 
• We will be awarding a MINIMUM of 5 Blog Posts each month and may choose to purchase more if submissions are outstanding! 
• If you have any, you are encouraged to link to your writing samples in your Tongal Portfolio (update your avatar while you’re there, too, since it'll appear next to your byline if you're chosen!).
• Can't think of anything right now? Come back next month and submit!
  
  

Topic Thought-Starters:

• In addition to evergreen topics, you are also encouraged to think about seasonal topics related to events, holidays, and behaviors that fall between now and the end of the year. This month's Pitch-winning Blog Posts will likely be published in November, FYI.
• Also, we love topics that potential Tongal creators might be searching for online. So think – what topic might lead that next great community member to find Tongal? Here are a few thought-starters, but you can also Pitch us something completely original:

  5. How to structure a 15/30-second commercial script
  6. Inclusive filmmaking (lighting for different skin tones, creating a safe set for all, hiring diverse cast/crew, etc.)
  7. Tips for documentary filmmaking or various ways to use doc skills to land work
  8. Building your marketing portfolio
  9. Building your filmmaker reel
  10. Creative jobs you can do at home
  11. Tips for pitching to clients
  12. A series of great examples of: docu-style commercials / SFX tutorials / humor in commercials / Facebook ads / etc.
      
      

The goal of this project is to identify and purchase original Blog Pitches that will then be developed into a Blog Post for the Tongal Blog, written by you. Keep in mind as you Pitch, the final Blog Post must be between 500-1500 words.

NOTE TO PITCH SUBMITTERS: The Tongal Blog features a mix of Tongal-centric information alongside more general interest topics related to creativity, entertainment, video production, and the advertising industry. Please study our Blog to understand the content we’ve published in the past - and avoid any topics we’ve already covered. Posts tagged ‘Community Guest Post’ were written by your fellow community members! Remember, if your Pitch is selected, you will be the one who writes the final blog post.

This Project will be worth a total of $500 and consists of 2 Phases: A Blog Pitch Phase and a Blog Post Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: BLOG PITCH – Submit your Pitch for a future blog post in 1,000 characters or less. Your Pitch should be a distillation of what your final Blog Post will be about, and demonstrate why the topic is a good fit for the Tongal Blog and why you’re the right person to write about it. 

The 5 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $50 to help create the Blog Post. Additionally, upon submitting a Blog Post that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winner(s) will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Blog Post Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Blog Post submission, you will win an additional $50. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Blog Post Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: BLOG POST - The Pitch Winner(s) will each create a 500-1500 word Blog Post based upon their winning Pitch.

--Blog Post Phase Payout: Upon submitting a Blog Post that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, completing Sponsor notes, providing the necessary release forms, and providing all assets required by the sponsor the Pitch winner will receive a final payment of $50 and have their byline attached to the published Blog Post.

1. Unless provided otherwise, all work must be your own original creation and free of any copyrighted material. You shall provide detailed information of your work regarding the source, the creator and background information as requested by Tongal.

2. BY SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, YOUR SUBMISSION IMMEDIATELY BECOMES THE SOLE PROPERTY OF TONGAL OR ITS ASSIGNEES – SEE OFFICIAL RULES FOR MORE DETAILS ABOUT OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES. YOU MAY NOT PUBLICLY SHARE OR PUBLISH YOUR SUBMISSION IN ANY MANNER AND YOU MAY NOT POST OR UPLOAD YOUR SUBMISSION TO ANY WEBSITE OR VIDEO HOSTING SITE (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE OR VIMEO), WITHOUT THE PRIOR EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT OF TONGAL. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF YOUR ENTRY IN THE PROJECT.

3. Submissions cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, nudity or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Sponsor.

4. Submissions must not portray Sponsor in a negative way, the determination of which will solely reside with Sponsor.

5. By submitting to this project, you acknowledge that your work may become subject to public voting on the Tongal site. Public voting may be used to help the project sponsor determine the final rank order.

6. Limit 5 submissions per member.

7. You must be at least thirteen (13) years or old.
 

8. The Sponsor reserves the right to repost the contest at their discretion.

9. Winners must submit the standard Tongal W-9, Winner Affidavit, and IP Assignment.
