Nickelodeon invites you to create fun Videos for parents and kids to help generate excitement for their new animated preschool series “Blaze and the Monster Machines.”
In case you haven’t tuned into Nickelodeon recently, you’re missing out! There’s a new Monster Truck in the preschool arena and his name is Blaze, the top racer in Axle City. Together, with his driver, AJ, his female mechanic Gabby, and his Monster Truck friends -- like Zeg the dinosaur truck, and Stripes the tiger truck -– they embark on action-filled adventures that teach kids all about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Not only do young kids love the unique cast of characters and the humor between silly mischief-makers Crusher and Pickle, but parents love the show because it shares lessons of friendship, teamwork, and education.
Watch some clips and full episodes here. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself shouting out numerical answers, singing along to catchy tunes about adhesion, balance and more and learning a thing or two about how levers work: http://www.nickjr.com/blaze-and-the-monster-machines/
Now Nickelodeon wants your help to promote the show! Read the Objectives section for more info…
The goal of this project is to create a fun video, up to 90 seconds in length, for parents and kids that generates excitement for the new animated preschool series “Blaze and the Monster Machines” on Nickelodeon. (BATMM toys are now available too!)
Nickelodeon is wide open to creativity -- maybe you want to make a mini-movie using your favorite Blaze characters, or cleverly apply something you’ve learned on the show in your real life, or sing a little ditty about STEM.
Let’s create in the spirit of the show – think action-sequences, unexpected adventures, fast-paced races & chases, interactive games, fun with friends, and most of all... MONSTER TRUCKS! Consider this: What does Blaze mean to you? Is it about the learning, the play pattern, the humor, or more?
Remember, your Video should be entertaining, and in no way feel like a commercial. Nickelodeon is open to seeing live action, animation, mixed-media, or whatever way you want to bring your creative vision to life.
NOTE: Your Video can appeal to Parents, Kids or Both. Please select one of these ‘Target Demographics’ from the dropdown menu upon submitting your Idea.
(The Sponsor will not be making assets from the cartoon available for this project (ie: no character art, no songs, no 3D models), so you will have to come up with alternative creative ways to tell your story.)
**This project is only eligible to U.S. residents, age 18 or over.**

This Project will be worth a total of $60,000 and consists of 3 Phases: an Idea Phase, a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.
PHASE 1: IDEA –
**Your Video can appeal to Parents, Kids or Both. Please select one of these ‘Target Demographics’ from the dropdown menu upon submitting your Idea.**
Tell us your Idea for a “Blaze and the Monster Machines” Video in 140 characters or less. Remember, an Idea (What is an Idea Phase?) is not a detailed script; it is a spark of inspiration, or a distillation of what will happen in the Video. As always, Ideas should be clever and engaging. The winning Idea creators will receive $250 each and a 5% one-time residual payment for any winning Videos based on their Idea. (That means if your winning Idea is the basis for the 1st place Video, you will receive $1,000, the 2nd place Video $650, the 3rd place Video $400, and the 4th place Video $300 – see Video Phase Payout details for more information.
PHASE 2: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:
The 3 most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $4,000 to help create the Video. Additionally, upon submitting a Video that satisfies the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a winning place in the subsequent Video Phase. So, if your Pitch is selected and you execute your Pitch effectively in your Video submission, you will win an additional $7,500, at a minimum, and have a chance to compete for the $20,000 First Place video prize (subject to deduction for one-time 5% residual payment to eligible Idea winners). For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.
PHASE 3: VIDEO – The 3 winners from the Pitch Phase will each create a Video up to 90 seconds based upon their winning Pitch.
All other creators are invited to enter a Wildcard (What Is a Wildcard?) submission that can be based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase or a totally original concept that is not based on any winning material from the Idea Phase. The Judges will score all Wildcard submissions and the 1 highest scoring Wildcard Video along with the 3 winning Videos submitted by Pitch winners will be scored to determine the standings for the Video Phase. Remember, the 3 Pitch winners, along with 1 Wildcard creator, will receive prizes.
--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn the following prizes: 1st place $20,000, 2nd place $13,000, 3rd place $8,000, and 4th place $6,000 (less any 5% one-time residual payments paid to the Idea winners, as applicable).
--Music: Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.
Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE. They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form.
