Using the power of crowdsourcing, share with us your thoughts on how the Tongal platform and community can be a force of good against racism. Five chosen ideas will receive a $250 donation to a non-profit of choice.

The goal of this project is to identify new opportunities where the Tongal platform and creative community can be a force of good against racism and further the Black Lives Matter movement. The Tongal Team is currently taking action internally; however, we believe brilliant people are everywhere and the next great idea can come from anyone. So, in true Tongal fashion, we’re opening the floor. For this initiative, we want your take on how the Tongal platform can be a catalyst for progress and positive change.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Tongal was built to give important stories a platform, and now, more than ever, it's our responsibility to do just that.
  • While there are many forms of injustice in our world, our hope is that by concentrating on anti-racism now, we will be able to help create lasting change.
  • Contributing to non-profits financially is incredibly important, but where we want your input and creativity is on new ways our platform and community can be a force of good.
  • For this effort, we are welcoming submissions big and small. We encourage submitters to get specific.

Crowdsourcing democratizes the process of innovation by opening it up to people that might otherwise be siloed. With social justice and racial inequality at the forefront of our collective minds, we have the opportunity to use this process to identify actionable ideas that will amplify the impact of the Black Lives Matter movement.

While Black Lives Matter is not an official sponsor of this project, Tongal shares in the beliefs of the Black Lives Matter movement and holds up those ideals as the intended results of this ideation. When considering ideas, here are a few categories we are proposing as a starting point:

  • Project Initiatives -  The Tongal platform is a tool that gives businesses access to a network of independent creators and technology that manages the creative workflow. Do you have an idea for a specific project, collaboration or new application of our platform? What does that look like?

  • Potential Partners - Tongal is actively reaching out to partners and non-profits that can help inform and facilitate socially conscious and progressive initiatives. However, we are always open to new ideas and suggestions for organizations we may not be familiar with. We want to hear your thoughts.

  • Community Development - What ideas do you have for new types of community programming and education? Historically, we’ve fostered our global community of creatives through community-led tutorials, movie discussions, live streams, 1:1 creative feedback sessions, and social content; however, there is always more to be done and we welcome ideas that concentrate on addressing racial inequality.

Finally, if you do not have a chosen organization in mind, we've started a list of non-profits for your consideration.:

As a company, we have work to do, and this is one of the steps we're taking to put our commitment into action.

To be considered for this project, you must include the below in your Concept submission:

  • TEXT (REQUIRED) - In 250 characters, submit your idea on how the Tongal platform and community can be a force of good against racism.

  • SUGGESTION CATEGORY (REQUIRED) - Indicate which category your idea best falls under or simply select "other".

  • NON-PROFIT OF CHOICE (REQUIRED) -  Input your chosen Non-profit to receive a $250 donation per winning submission.

On behalf of the creators, Tongal is committed to selecting five ideas and donating $250 to the non-profit of the creator's choice per idea.
