TickPick Back to Live Events Broadcast Pitch Project
Pitch
03/26/21 - 04/13/21

Pitch your take on an exciting broadcast video about how TickPick, the ticket industry's original and only major ticket site that doesn't charge service fees, is going to help get everyone back to live events again.

It's been over a year without concerts, sporting events, and shows. Fans can't wait to get out there and support their favorite artists and teams. TickPick is here to help. As the original and only major ticket site that doesn’t charge service fees on tickets, they know the pandemic made life hard... so they made ticket buying easier and more affordable than ever to get everyone back to live events again. Now, they are considering launching a :30 broadcast video with that message, so they're looking for an exciting and creative take on how to communicate the TickPick value proposition that also builds on the anticipation we all feel as we look forward to live events.

TickPick wants this spot to be relevant for at least 4 to 6 months, as more and more people are vaccinated, are comfortable attending events, and as different state/municipalities return to full capacity events on different timetables. If the final creative can be easily adapted/edited to become more evergreen (i.e. - run for 12 months or more) that would be a bonus, but it's not the priority.

TickPick is only seeking pitches at this point, and they are not committed to greenlighting the pitches into production. However, the creators of the three selected pitches will receive $3,000 each. Your pitches should address both a :30 broadcast video, and a :15 cutdown, and aim to bring awareness to TickPick by balancing branding with a direct response message.

The budget range for the production of this spot is between $50,000 - $85,000. Budget will be considered in addition to your creative take in terms of production viability. If selected, TickPick may ask you to perform some revisions to your pitch.

DELIVERABLES: Note: Production is NOT guaranteed with this project.

  • One :30 broadcast video (16x9)
  • One :15 broadcast video (16x9)

TIMELINE: If you are to move forward into production, TickPick will be looking for final delivery of a broadcast spot by mid-May. A timeline will be drawn up and discussed upon selection.

TARGET AUDIENCE:

  • Live event goers (18-44 years old with a focus on 25-34 year olds) who love sports, attend a lot of concerts, and who are even more price-conscious deal seekers than the average ticket buyer.

TAKEAWAY:

  • The takeaway from the video should be: The pandemic made life hard... so we made ticket buying easier and more affordable than ever. Let’s get everyone back to live events.

TONE:

  • Needs to focus on excitement and anticipation of what we’ve all been missing.
  • The brand character is extremely supportive of their consumers, transparent, and helpful. Operating in the consumer's best interest.
  • The brand personality is entertaining, trendy, and sometimes edgy.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • “No Fees” reason to believe (RTB) needs to be a part of the final campaign, can include others as desired (see Core Points of Differentiation in Background/Additional Details).

  • Don’t repeat the edgy humor of the “Locker Room” spot that plays with the TickPick name; not appropriate for this execution.

Shooting live action or stop motion? Our priority is ensuring everyone's safety. Please review our COVID-19 Production Safety Guide and check federal, state, and local rules before and during your shoot to make sure your on-set protocols are up to date. We're working hard to keep people working during this extraordinary time, and you should ensure your submission is executable within the anticipated timeline and budget, while also ensuring everyone's safety.

CORE POINTS OF DIFFERENTIATION:

  • TickPick is the original, and still the only major ticket site, that doesn’t charge service fees on tickets... so you save money. On average, you save 10% compared to their largest competitor (StubHub).
  • TickPick shows the full ticket price up front (aka - the price you see if the price you get), so you don’t get shocked / angry by extra fees tacked on at checkout (like their competition does).
  • Their BuyerTrust Guarantee guarantees your tickets will work at the gate, and they guarantee a refund if your event is canceled.
  • TickPick's tagline claims to offer "Same Seats. Better Pricing" and they recently launched a BestPrice Guarantee to back it up.

PREVIOUS SPOTS:

These videos predate their current “Same Seats. Better Prices” positioning, so they tend to focus more on the features /reason to believe (RTB) of “No Hidden Fees”, and less on the functional benefit of saving money, and only hint at the emotional benefit of being excited after you buy from TickPick. They do capture a visual aesthetic considered complementary to the brand, and their sense of humor/edginess. That said, the value proposition is a bit lost in service of humor and TickPick is looking to address that in the new work. Also, those spots clearly don't address the gravity and excitement of the end of the pandemic.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.

  • TEXT (REQUIRED): 500 or fewer characters synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this video.

  • TREATMENT (REQUIRED): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video (both :30 and :15). If it's helpful to you, we've provided a treatment template, which you can find here.

  • BID (REQUIRED): Your production budget for the videos.

  • SCRIPT (REQUIRED): This should include dialogue from the videos you intend to create. Please include scripts for the :30 and :15.

  • PITCH VIDEO (REQUIRED): This is your opportunity to be face-to-face with the Sponsor and show them what you're capable of. Consider submitting a pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome. For some examples of effective Pitch videos, check out this gallery. All Pitches will remain private until after the Sponsor gives creator(s) the green light to move forward.

  • LINKS (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • STORYBOARDS (Optional but highly encouraged): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across. You can download the Tongal storyboard template here.

The 3 most compelling pitches will be selected, and the responsible creators will then receive an email from Tongal producers with information about whether the Sponsor will be moving forward with their pitch, and what the next steps would entail. All submitters will receive an automated email notification that a selection has been announced. To ensure you’re receiving project updates, review your email settings to check that you haven’t unsubscribed.

Creators who’ve been selected will receive funding upon completing the Winner Affidavit and the IP Assignment. Payment of the pitch funds is subject to a payment schedule determined by Tongal.
