Animated Feature Film 2D Concept Artist Search
Pitch
02/03/22 - 02/16/22

Submit your 2D art portfolio for the chance to collaborate on the look and feel of an upcoming animated feature film!

Tongal is making an animated feature film and we are looking to the Tongal community for collaborative 2D artists to help expand the conceptual world of this project! Creating an animated film is a multi-layered process that requires lots of creative voices to be shared and iterated upon on its journey to greatness and we want you to join the team!

If you're a 2D artist of any style, this is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the feature filmmaking process! Tongal is looking for a variety of different 2D based conceptual art elements to help shape the world of this film, some of which include:

  • Character Designs
  • Prop Designs
  • Background and Set Designs
  • Effect Designs.

If you think your style applies to ANY of these categories, we encourage you to submit a portfolio of your artwork and/or past work. If you've worked on concept designs professionally, those should be the first and foremost pieces in your portfolio, but if you've done other 2D work related to those categories be sure to show us that too! Additionally, it would be great to show different iterations of your art (from rough concept to final design) to give us an idea of your process, since multiple rounds of drafts and revisions are all part of the animated film fun.

For more information, please see Background/Additional Details below.

EXPOSURE: Theatrical Release.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Families, Music Lovers, and Animated Film Fans.

  • In your treatment, be sure to detail which design/animation programs you are proficient in.
  • Please don't submit any violent or graphic artwork, as that is not the tone or style of this project.

In your submission, view your treatment and portfolio as an overall introduction opportunity. It should not only include the best and most relevant examples of your portfolio but also describe your style as an artist, your professional experience, workflow possibilities, as well as your personal connection to animation. Anything you think could help Tongal producers get a sense of who you are and why you would be a great fit for this team should be included.

In order to be considered for this project, you must include the below materials in your pitch submission. For examples of effective pitches, check out this gallery.
