Create three awesome 15 second Videos for Angel Soft that show off the brand’s value and quality and encourage consumers to shop for it online.

Life is full of tradeoffs. You can wear mittens when your hands are cold but good luck operating your iPhone. Minivans may be the perfect vehicle to haul your family life around but you’re going to look like you’re driving… a minivan.

Well, Angel Soft® doesn’t do tradeoffs. Their tissue paper is both soft AND strong. No need to compromise. Angel Soft gives you the ideal balance of softness and strength at a price that won’t break the bank. Turns out, you can have it all.

Angel Soft® celebrates parents who have to be both soft and strong in raising their family. That’s why they have a new campaign, “Be Soft. Be Strong”. As they say:  “People are both soft and strong, which is why our products are too.”

To celebrate this perfect balance, Angel Soft is looking for three talented filmmakers to each create three 15 second videos. These videos will embrace Angel Soft’s ideals of being soft AND strong while falling into one of the following categories:

  • Brand Awareness
  • Mega Rolls
  • Amazon Short

This project’s a little different than the typical Tongal project, so please be sure to visit the Objectives section to find out more info about each of these categories.

The goal of this project is to create three amazing 15 second Videos in one of three categories that will fall under the “Be Soft. Be Strong” campaign. Filmmakers will pitch to make videos around one of three categories:

Brand Awareness

Everyone already knows the Angel Soft brand and they already know Amazon. But they might not know you can get Angel Soft quickly and easily right on Amazon. Now you have the perfect combination: The Softness and Strength of Angel Soft® with the value and convenience of ordering online! No compromises necessary! Angel Soft is looking for three 15 second videos that celebrate that combination and encourage moms to shop for Angel Soft on Amazon.

Mega Rolls

Angel Soft is looking for three 15 second videos that highlight Mega Rolls as the same softness and strength of Angel Soft but now in a longer lasting roll-over 500 sheets per roll! Videos should also communicate the softness and strength of Angel Soft. Please do not exclusively focus on the longer lasting element, rather tie this element back in to the brand that you already know and love.

Amazon Short

This is where you can really get creative. Angel Soft wants to produce some fun and engaging content for Amazon’s new video shorts page. They’re looking for three 15 second videos that grab viewers’ attention and bring to life the Value OR Softness and Strength of Angel Soft. We’re not talking about a typical commercial here. Think Tips & Tricks, Social Experiments, Art Films- it’s up to you! Take a look at Angel Soft’s existing “Sheet Out Of Luck” series for a good outside-the-box example.

Choose the category you’d like to pitch on from the dropdown menu on the submission page. Remember: you may pitch on more than one category by submitting multiple times. One pitch winner will be assigned to each category.

--Key Marketing Messages: Remember, your videos should ladder up to Angel Soft’s “Be Soft. Be Strong.” campaign. Please check out these recent commercial spots for inspiration:

Your videos could also play on the idea of soft and strong pairings. For instance, these pairings were used as banners in Angel Soft’s existing campaign:

  • “Soft on piggy banks, Strong on potty breaks.”
  • “Soft on little tushies, strong on big savings”

Pitch winners will need to make three distinct 15 second videos each. So if you’re assigned the Mega Rolls category, you will need to create three distinct 15 second videos for Angel Soft Mega Rolls.

Note to Pitch Submitters: There is no Idea Phase for this project so you MUST submit the following required information in order for your Pitch to be eligible:

  • Casting selects
  • Location selects
  • Plot outline for each of the three videos you’ll be creating

Bumper Note: Filmmakers will need to use the provided end card (you can find it in the Assets tab) as a bumper for their videos. Your video will need to be 15 seconds in length total including the bumper. Please plan for this when crafting your stories/scripts.

--Target Audience: Moms, mid to low income, diverse backgrounds, ages 35-54. They shop Amazon but may not be buying their bath tissue through Amazon.

--Executional Mandatories:

  • Please make sure the cast of your video is ethnically diverse. If only one or two people are in your spot, please have them be ethnically ambiguous.
  • Comedy is great but please don’t use crude humor.

--Tone: Fun, good-humored, down-to-earth. Humor is encouraged but please don’t be crude.

--Exposure: As pre-roll advertisements on various media sites. Also on Amazon’s branded video shorts page.

--Product: Sponsor will make product available for the pitch winners to use in their spots.

This Project will be worth a total of $45,000 and consists of two Phases:  a Pitch Phase and a Video Phase. Be sure to read the following information carefully as well as the Official Rules.

PHASE 1: PITCH - Submit your Pitch (What is a Pitch Phase?) convincing the Sponsor why you should be selected to execute a Video based on one of the winning Ideas from the previous Phase using:

  • Text (REQUIRED): 500 characters or less synopsizing how you plan to approach and execute this Video.

  • Links (REQUIRED): To your previous video work. Please specify your role (producer, director, cinematography, etc.) and DO NOT INCLUDE LINKS TO YOUR SHOWREEL. Please link to individual videos.

  • Script (Optional): This should include dialogue from the video you intend to create.

  • Treatment (Required): A detailed narrative description of what's going to happen in the video.

  • Storyboards (Optional): Additional concept art, storyboards, shot list, anything that helps get your point across.

  • Headshots/Casting Boards/Locations (Required): Casting notes or concepts, headshots of actors, location photos etc.

  • Pitch Video (Optional): This is your opportunity to show us what you're capable of. Consider submitting a Pitch video in which you tell the Sponsor what they can expect should they choose your Pitch. Also, test videos, animatics, etc. are welcome.

The three most compelling Pitches will be selected and, upon submitting the Winner’s Affidavit and the IP Assignment, will each receive $5,000 to help create the Video.  Additionally, upon submitting three Videos that satisfy the criteria laid out in your winning Pitch, the Pitch winners will also be GUARANTEED a $10,000 Video Prize. For an example of an effective Pitch, check out The Indie Machines winning “3 Artists & 5,000 LEGOs” Pitch video. All Pitches will remain private until after the winner of the Video Phase is announced and the Project is complete.

PHASE 2: VIDEO – The three winners from the Pitch Phase will each create three 15 second Videos based upon their winning Pitch.

--Video Phase Payout: Winners of the Video Phase will earn $10,000 each.

--Music:  Tongal has partnered with three premiere music providers: Audioblocks, Killer Tracks and Epidemic Sound. Any of which can be used to source music for your Video submission to this Project. Music from these providers is available to registered Tongal members at no charge solely for their incorporation into Submissions to this Project and will not require a separate Music Release Form. To learn more about using each of these music providers, click on any of the provider’s names above.

Tongal members interested in a custom music solution for your project are invited to connect with SCORE A SCORE.  They specialize in the creation of custom music, on-demand.

Their business model is based on a "name your price" system, so you can tell them what your budget is, and they will work with you to create a deal configuration that will work within the discussed parameters. Check out the FAQ for more information and how to contact SCORE A SCORE.

If you are selected as a winner and choose to use custom/original music, you must fill out and submit our Music Release Form. If you obtain music from other catalog providers, you must purchase the appropriate license at your own expense and submit it with our Music Release Form when you turn in your Video paperwork.

--Referral: Any Tongal member who refers one of the winning Video creators in this Project using the Tongal “Invite Friends” functionality will receive a referral fee equal to 5% of the amount won. That’s a potential $1,500 (up to $500 per place) in bonus cash just for telling all of your talented friends about this Project! Check out more about our Referral Program in FAQ.
