MatMarket is a small business with a big product; the only problem is, they don’t know what to call it!

MatMarket has developed a new material that they hope will soon replace polychloroprene (i.e., similar material as DuPont’s neoprene) for all consumer products as an alternative foam package. Their new product is superior for two reasons:

1) Performance: this product weighs less than neoprene and it insulates twice as well as neoprene.

2) Eco-friendly: This product is toxic free (neoprene contains heavy toxins; chlorine being one of the worst) and the product is solvent free (neoprene uses 2 solvents: toluene and DMF).

The goal of this contest is to come up with a creative name for MatMarket’s new neoprene-like product. Although it is extremely important that MatMarket’s new product differentiate itself from neoprene, customers and the general public seem very comfortable with the word “neoprene” for marketing purposes. So, if the name you come up with sounds like neoprene, plays off of it, or if you want to include the word “prene,” feel free to.

PHASE 1: NAME – Check out MatMarket’s new product and come up with a creative and original name for it.   In the “title” section, place your name for MatMarket’s new product, in the body, feel free to add any color that you think might support your submission.

Be sure to check with the U.S. Patent Office, to make sure the name is not already owned or registered. If your name is already registered with the USPTO, your submission will be rejected.  We also advise doing a Google search.  Some trademarks may not be registered with the USPTO, but there's a chance someone is using them in some capacity.

PHASE 1B: PREDICTION – Go through all the names and try to Predict which one you think MatMarket will select as the name of their new product.

1. Names should be short (two words or less) and easily pronounceable.

2. All Names must be your own work and free of any copyrighted material.

3. Names cannot contain any profanity, offensive language, or otherwise objectionable material, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of MatMarket.

4. Names must be in the English language.

5. Limit 2 submission(s) per member.

6. You must be at least 13 years of age to enter.
