Ever watched The Daily Show, The Colbert Report or The Onion and thought, “hey, I’d like to do that?” Well, here’s your chance to throw in your two cents, parody some buzz-worthy topics and earn some extra dough in the process.

We wanted to give the Tongal community a chance to collaborate and create funny topical videos. For the topics we’re turning to what's trending on twitter. For the inspiration and the content we’re turning to you. Therefore, we give you This Week In Tongal (T.W.I.T.), a new bi-weekly video contest.

PHASE 1: IDEA - Select any one of the trending Twitter topics listed below and submit a 140-character idea for a parody video.  This phase runs from Friday (2/12) until Monday (2/15 @ 2:00pm PST). The 5 Idea Phase winners will be announced on Tuesday (2/16 @ 2:00 PM PST).

PHASE 2: VIDEO - Create a video based on any one of the five winning ideas. Keep it 60 seconds or less and make it your own. Video submissions will be due Monday (2/22 @ 11AM PST). Winners are announced Tuesday (2/23 @ 2:00pm). As an added incentive, whoever wins 1st place in the Video Phase will have the opportunity to be a judge in the next installment of T.W.I.T.

1. Ideas can be no longer than 140 characters and must be written in the English language.

2. Videos should no longer than 60 seconds in length.  Preferred format is 720p HD; 16x9 aspect ratio.  Acceptable file formats are .mov, .avi, .mp4, .wmv Acceptable codecs are H.264 (MP4), MPEG-4, H.263, MPGV, WMV, DivX

3. All work must be your own and free of any copyrighted material.

4. Videos must be done in good tase, which is solely at the discretion of Tongal.  As a guideline, think suitable for SNL, The Daily Show, Colbert, etc.

5. All submissions must be created in the spirit of parody. No defamation will be tolerated, the determination of which is solely at the discretion of Tongal.

6. Videos must be in the English language or subtitled.

7. Limit 2 submission(s) per member per phase.

8. You must be at least 13 years of age to enter.

9. No minimum threshold for repost.
