Create a fun and festive design for the 2020 Tongal holiday card!

What a year this, er, year has been. Like you, we won't be sorry to see 2020 in the rearview, but we'd be lying if we didn't say there were some things worth remembering and celebrating this holiday season, like sweatpants, sourdough, and Animal Crossing – and being able to gather close with those we love, whether in-person or over Zoom, 2020's weirdest consolation prize.

We're looking for one graphic designer to bring our idea for Tongal's 2020 holiday postcard to life. You can take a look at previous cards for reference, but we're open to a range of styles. We've outlined the creative ask in the Background section, so read on for more details.

DELIVERABLES:

  • One holiday postcard: 5x7, full-color, single-sided, full-bleed, in a PDF @ 300dpi. Art will need to incorporate the creative ask and the holiday message shared in the Background.
  • One 1080x1080 version for social, without the holiday message baked in.

TIMELINE: Final design will be due by EOD November 30th.

EXPOSURE: Direct mail to Tongal partners and clients, Tongal's Instagram.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Tongal partners and clients and Instagram followers.

TONE: Celebratory, cheeky, humorous, a little weird.

EXECUTIONAL MANDATORIES:

  • Your pitch must include a sample/rough design of the holiday card
  • Design must bring to life the creative ask in the background section
  • Design must incorporate the holiday messaging for the 5x7 postcard version.

Tongal's 2020 holiday card should show a personified Yule Log relaxing on a couch and watching people in a grid view do the following holiday-themed 2020 activities on Zoom:

  • Square 1: Santa riding a Peloton bike
  • Square 2: A banana making sourdough bread
  • Square 3: Rudolph and the reindeer doing a K-Pop dance on TikTok
  • Square 4: Animal Crossing characters lighting a menorah (in an Animal Crossing house or in front of Resident Services)
  • Square 5: A woman looking professional from the torso up but throwing pottery on a wheel in messy sweatpants OR wearing sweatpants and surrounded by cats on the bottom
  • Square 6: A couple still glued to CNN watching the election map
  • Optional Additional Squares: You can also include 1-3 additional Zoom square designs in your sample art for a total of up to 9 Zoom square 'scenes.'

Your card design should also include this message:

We know this holiday season is weirder than usual...but we hope yule find ways to make it special.
