Paavo Hanninen is an award-winning filmmaker whose films have played at festivals around the world. His latest short film, "The Heart Wants What It Wants" premiered on nobudge.com after premiering at the New Orleans Film Festival. His previous short film "Tiny Tape Recorder" has received a number of accolades including an Austin Film Society grant, and selection for the 2013 Berlinale Short Film Cloud. After completing his MFA in film at UT-Austin, he moved to New Orleans where he works as an Addy award winning director & cinematographer of short form digital content while he continues to work on narrative projects both short and feature-length. He is currently at work on a new narrative short, a feature screenplay and a feature-length documentary that continues the story of his short doc, "Big Chief," about Big Chief Tugga, the youngest Mardi Gras Indian Chief in New Orleans.
