Jasmine Jackson is a director, filmmaker and screenwriter from southern New Jersey. She was raised in a small town outside of Philadelphia, PA and relocated to California to pursue her undergraduate degree in Film Production from California State University, Sacramento. Upon graduation, she has plans to pursue her masters in Producing or Screenwriting from University of Southern California or Loyola Marymount University. As a childhood, she found her passion for writing and filmmaking while watching behind the scenes clips from her favorite movies and became obsessed with telling the story and the processes that went on to bring the story to life. As an African-American filmmaker, she is passionate about creating a change in the industry and create films that focus on people of color, women and LGBT communities. She believes the opportunities for employment for these groups is still statistically low and hopes to create films and shows that highlight these groups more often. Growing
