By age 10, she was writing and directing short films, starring her younger brother. Before each movie premiered, she would print out movie "Tickets" that her parents would purchase. The quarters went directly into a piggy bank for filmmaking equipment. As her movies played, she remembers constantly glancing back at her parents. Seeing their reaction, whether it was laughter or tears, was her favorite part of screening her movies. This same effect of achieving a strong, emotional connection from her audience is still true for her today. Fiorella was born in the U.S. but raised in an Argentinean/Italian household. She lived in Argentina in her early years, and won a scholarship to study film and photography in Florence, Italy. She developed her photographic film skills and learned the process of developing images, where she would spend countless hours every day. She then returned to Pasadena to graduate with a BFA in Film from Art Center College of Design. These multicultural experience
