Hi there, my name is Derek and Im a self-taught filmmaker who is still studying on-and-off at Santa Monica Colleges film program. Im a native Los Angeleno, who grew up in Van Nuys, California. I began as an actor/writer and later realized that I wanted to be involved with making movies and projects. So, over the past few years Ive started producing and getting projects off the ground. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to collaborate & connect with other artists & filmmakers who shared the same level of passion as I do, in telling stories. Over the past 8 years, Ive starred, written, directed, and produced LGBTQ short films that have toured in film festivals all over the world. I recently started my own Youtube channel called, "Riot Scene Media," to house all of my body of work. I pretty much specialize in producing LGBTQ themed content and pushing the envelope with that channel.
