I was born and raised in Germany and moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue a career in film. I started out as an assistant editor on films such as "Machine Gun Preacher", "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo", and "World War Z" while editing shorts on the side "Carjack", "Zombie Roadkill", "Ham Sandwich" etc. In 2012, I made the jump to feature editor with the drama-thriller "Squatters", starring Gabriella Wilde, Luke Grimes and Richard Dreyfuss. He then edited the indie dramas "Diving Normal", and "Fort Bliss", starring Michelle Monaghan and Ron Livingston. Carsten also co-edited the adventure film "Earth To Echo" which was released in theaters July 2nd by Relativity Media. As a director, I have created several short films in various genres: drama "Left & Leaving", "The White Room", horror "Breathe", Bad", and a romantic comedy "Happily Ever After".
