For my entire life, and still to this day, I am the most annoying person to vent to. I always find the angle nobody sees. I transformed from the Devil's advocate to God's advocate, because in the last 10+ years telling stories with my video camera, whether at the financial scale of a downpayment or the latest iPhone, I built the skill of finding the angle that makes a story human. Humans want to empathize. We're emotional, social creatures who yearn to relate to one another. We thrive in communities of shared beliefs, values, and identity. It's our biggest strength. In the wrong hands, our biggest weakness. I take that responsibility seriously, since my work has influenced billions of viewers.
