Babak Andishmand Bobby was born in Tehran during times of war and suppression. At the age of three he fled with his mother, never to go back. At the age of fourteen he started writing poetry and later developed a passion for photography and painting, but eventually found himself in Documentary Film. At the age of seventeen he decided to apply for the Rietveld School of Art & Design and graduated in 2009. In his work he tries to tell his story by depicting that of others. Creating situations and guiding subjects and themes through his works, exploring the narrow line between both fiction and reality as well as contents and esthetics. He is the winner of two Manny awards from the Take Two Film Festival in New York City and his work has been shown around the world, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, San Francisco and New York. His work has appeared in many newspapers such as the New York Times, The Washington Square News, Volskrant and many others.
