Links to Previous Work
Show the Sponsor you have the experience to execute your Pitch. There are many factors here, but the general consensus is quality over quantity.
- 3 - 4 links should be dedicated to the Director’s best work most relevant to the Brief.
- If you have a website, don’t just link to the entire site (especially if you’re new to Tongal). Curate a list of a few videos then include the website in the form, should the Brand want to do some extra research.
- It’s far more effective to submit full commercial spots rather than directorial reels and/or music videos.
- Submit at least 1 sample with on-camera dialogue. We need to get a sense of how well you work with sound.
- If you have a specific crew member you want to call out like a DP, drone operator, or art director, reels are acceptable. One link per role should do the trick.
- Space everything out nicely in the form.

Synopsis
Use the Synopsis section and Treatment and/or Pitch Video to explain how you will expand on the Sponsor’s objectives laid out in the brief.
- Always re-read the Brief & Objectives.
- If the Sponsor selected Ideas/Concepts from a previous Phase for you to base your Pitch on, make sure you read their feedback about the direction they envision for the video in the Sponsor Notes section.

Pitch Video
Pitch Videos are often optional when submitting to our Video Projects, but they can make a big difference. Think of the Pitch Video as your opportunity to be “in the room” with the Sponsor. You’re pitching yourself as a filmmaker and partner.
- 1-3 minutes is the Pitch Video sweet spot.
- Explain how you will execute the creative ask outlined in the Project Brief, your creative and technical approach, and your background / experience.
- You can edit for brevity. It doesn’t have to be perfect, jump cuts will not be negatively marked.

Treatment
Treatments are typically required on every video project. A Treatment is a detailed presentation best executed with “mood boards” of your take on the creative ask outlined in the Project Brief. It should give Tongal and the Sponsors a good idea of how you visualize your video.
