The trailer for Piece by Piece, the life story of Pharrell Williams told in LEGO animation, was released by the creative visionary this morning — giving fans a first look at this groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind feature.
It's a proud moment for nearly 100 Tongal Creators from around the world who worked on the film, and another milestone for our epic creator community, who continue to reframe perceptions of our potential.
Our talented artists have been working on building Pharrell's world in LEGO bricks since 2020, from animating the greenlit proof of concept, to contributing hundreds of character designs and locations to the innovative, feature-length documentary. It's the first time that a motion picture of this scale has been built, piece by piece, in collaboration with a creator platform.
Tongal has worked closely with the LEGO Group and other partners — Focus Features, Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville’s company Tremolo Productions, Pure Imagination Studios, and Pharrell's creative collective i am OTHER — to bring the superstar's unprecedented idea to life.
The trailer is premiering in theaters this weekend, ahead of Piece by Piece hitting the big screen on October 11.
