Here at Tongal, we are always on the hunt for amazing resources to help you create your best work and live your best life (we’re kind of like Oprah in that way). To that end, you may have noticed that our roster of Community Resources recently got even more really, really, ridiculously good looking when we added LA-based Newbook Models to our list of partners. As ever, the only thing you need to take advantage of these exclusive deals is a user account with us!

First a little background: Newbook Models is an online platform that makes it super easy for models and clients to connect and - bonus! - removes friction from the booking process. Because they aren’t an agency, they are able to offer more diversity of talent and help you keep budgets in line by cutting out the middleman.

It’s completely free to join the Newbook community, and every member is personally (and quickly!) vetted by their team to ensure a professional experience all-around. As a creator and potential client, you’d normally only pay a small percentage fee when you book talent through their platform.
However, since you’re a Tongaler and therefore special, that fee is completely waived. You’re only on the hook for the cost of paying talent at your agreed upon amount. Plus, they are graciously assigning dedicated account managers, so all Tongal members can try Newbook risk-free! Just make sure to write "Tongal" in the "referred by" field upon signup.
Here’s when you should consider using the services of Newbook Models:
Your production is based in LA, NYC, or Chicago (those are the cities with the highest concentration of models currently). To a lesser extent, Newbook also has a presence in Philadelphia, Miami, San Diego, and Phoenix (and they are continually expanding!).
You are working on a video project that also includes a photoshoot deliverable - hire an actor/model hybrid
If you’re producing a stop-motion video with humans in it (a la this Tongie-winning My/Mo Mochi social video by La Di Da Films) and need someone who can really strike a pose
You need to cast for a beauty or fashion spot (a la this Banana Republic commercial by The Jean Michel Studio)
Can you think of more ways that Tongal community members could work with Newbook Models? Let’s hear it in the comments!
