Editors, rejoice! Tongal has been steadily launching editing-only projects over the summer, but we’re only getting started. Before 2018 draws to a close, there are plans to bring several more editing opportunities to the Tongal community.
This latest flood of editing projects is all thanks to Tongal’s long-standing designation as an official Facebook Marketing Partner. In an effort to help brands optimize their already-existing assets for the platform, Facebook has tapped some of their key marketing partners to help scale the efforts through their in-house Facebook Creative Shop. Naturally, with a global community of over 150,000 creators at the ready, Tongal was an obvious choice!
What’s so cool about our Editing Projects?
They are a great option for lone editors to pick up extra work. We think these editing projects offer an especially interesting and unique opportunity for our community members who are post-production pros. Because each Project Sponsor provides all the video and graphics assets up front, editing projects can be executed quickly by a single person.
They are an ideal place to start building your reel. Because we ask you to provide a Sample Video based on the given assets as part of the Pitch process, your ability to land the project is solely based on the work at hand. This means that even someone without any previous video samples can potentially win the Pitch. For that reason, they’re also a great way for new community members to break into the Tongal process.
You'll work directly with the Sponsor. For all projects marked with the 'Editing' tag, Tongal puts the Pitch-winning editors directly in contact with the Sponsor, via our platform, to execute the remaining deliverables. This streamlines the process and gives you the opportunity to gain experience working directly with clients.

One last thing
While the majority of the editing projects launching through the end of the year will specifically end up on Facebook or Instagram, there might be some other platforms in the mix. It’s imperative that you familiarize yourself with the creative best practices of the entire social landscape if you want to stand out. Lucky for you, Tongal has already taken a lot of the guesswork out of it by creating a set of printable sheets for all the major platforms! And, of course, any other creative direction will be provided in the Project Brief itself.
