Stop reading. I know that sounds counterintuitive, as you’ve only just begun, but stop and look around you. What do you see?
Take stock of the rooms in your house and the items in those rooms. Even if you might be sick of looking at your breakfast nook or your eyes glaze over your backyard pool, you likely have access to a ton of cool stuff that would add great production value to a video.
Those elements are exactly what we’re looking to surface with our recently-launched Community Production Resources Database Project. Through this project, we’re building an internal database of talent, locations, props, and more that can be employed as needed to fill out productions produced on platform. As the pandemic continues to affect the ability to travel, limiting the footage any given filmmaker can capture, the hope is that this ‘by Tongal creators, for Tongal creators’ resource will allow us to tap into the power of our creative network in a new way with a bespoke and on-demand content library.
Best of all: Anyone can participate. And, if we match you with a future Tongal production, you will earn money for taking part. That’s right, instead of turning to stock footage libraries, we’re looking to keep things in the Tongal family.
To get your wheels turning, here’s a shortlist of some of the elements we’re looking for:
Talent (include ages and links to any past work)
Exterior Locations (houses, apartments, backyards, gardens, pools, treehouses, access to nature)
Interior Locations (kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, garages, home gyms, home offices, kids’ rooms/playrooms, finished and unfinished attics and basements, laundry rooms)
Props (Vintage, bizarre, unusually-sized, and super-specific items!)
Additional Resources (any unbranded resources you may have available)
