Mondays suck, but this doesn’t:
Raise your hand if you were brought up on this tasty beverage from the mid 80’s to late 90’s - Squeezeit!
Couldn’t start off any better with an Alvin and the Chipmunks end card just as we fade into the pop masterpiece.
As I sit here with my calorie/sugar-free LaCroix, I can’t help but reminisce about the care-free good ‘ol days. Oh, to be a kid in the 90s. Remember when you could just go to a football game, gulp down delicious sugary drinks and eat over-sized food without any parental supervision or repercussions?!
I legitimately love this song. Perhaps they over-emphasize when the squeeze is, and what you do to the bottle - but melody is awesome and I can’t help but sing along. Definitely holds up with the sitcom classics of the time (check out the backstory of those great tunes).
Hell yea! I don’t need a straw; they’re unnecessary and bad for the environment. Little known fact: that amazing falsetto performance at the end of the bridge (at 0:20) was actually performed by Michael McDonald.
Why is the press way up in the cheap seats with these rowdy fans? The man has a job to do people!
Things squeezed in this commercial:
The drink (obvi)
A giant hot dog out of a mammoth bun.
A football - it never pops though, just magically flies away. That’s ok the laws of physics didn’t exists in the 90s!
A camera - so hard in fact, that the flash extends out of the top.
A bucket of popcorn - well the popcorn somehow explodes out of the bucket. (*See note about physics in the 90s.) That popcorn flies everywhere!
And then the entire group of children squeeze a poor girl into oblivion... she’s in a better place now.
Ah, I miss jingles. That was a fun trip down memory lane, but my throat is sore...if only I could squeeze a delicious, fruity beverage into my mouth. Alas, my bubbly, slightly-essenced water will have to do. #bringbackjingles #bringbacksqueezeit!
